Our Boosters had already confronted Cali about this before he left. Our president and AD were weak. When they got the chance, Raines retired, RC was forced out, and the new admin took us in the right direction, with the boosters' help.

This all seems right to me. One other thing I remember, somewhere during those latter West years, or maybe the Porter years, we hired Mike Tranghese as a consultant to basically tell us what we needed to focus on. I don't know if his advice to us was part of the turning point or not, but it could have been.

He played us and got paid.

I think all he told us was to win more football games. Seems like we are following his advice. 150K well spent!

Wow dude. I'm talking about how Memphis MIGHT be PERCEIVED by the B12 presidents. Unfortunately eggheads make the ultimate decisions in realignmen.

I know for a FACT Memphis is a fine school from my time in TN and you are correct, work experience matters more latter in life. I wasnt trying to bash Memphis academics. ECU has some of the same issues that they have with perception.
