With no running game due to injuries at RB and O'line, Conner's strengths become neutralized, I thought we might of adjusted the gameplan in the fourth quarter and went to Knudsen and a passing attack. Perhaps, the sloppy field played a part in the personnel decisions but at this point in time I see no other choice but to give Knudsen the opportunity to open up the passing game if our running tandem is down.

We have a steal in Shane Simpson

Even in the rain, most teams would take to the air after losing three running backs in Victor, Simpson and Dickerson (who was left back at home). There's no reason not to get Ellis some playing time, but I'm afraid that the only reason he'll play against JMU, if we're down big. Elon was throwing a ton with a young quarterback and had mixed results. They threw a long TD pass. We started running all of our fullbacks. As conservative as we played, we still had bunch of turnovers.

JMU, Stony Brook and Villanova are up next. 03-banghead

Not seeing Ellis get playing time reminds me of a situation a long time ago, does anyone remember Joe Lee? Who knows what type of records Lee would of set if he was given the opportunity to play much earlier. That was a damn shame.....

A little. Kevin Smith wasn't bad but obviously, Lee turned out to be better. Joe Lee had to wait three years. Ellis only has to wait one. Just wish Ellis had played better over the summer. He didn't earn the job.

It's too early to tell. Sprained ankle. Probably 50-50 but I don't believe any coach when he talks about an injury unless he says the player is truly out.
