Opposed to the 160lb freshman that averaged 3.5 assist per game in high school? We don't have a lot of options there if Fleming doesn't get a special waiver. Even he wasn't much of a PG at Hawaii.

Really that's about it or one of the other freshman and those guys are all 6-5+. What are the chances 6-5+ marginal recruits can actually play PG effectively. Prince was pretty rare in that aspect at this level or really any level even the NBA not a lot of legit 6-5+ PG's. Those big PG's are like 7 foot projects in a lot of ways. Prince is a lot to replace alone on next years team.

Lebo just needs more time and I really like the gamble of keeping three open scholarships in June. Brilliant

I think the idea of BJ at the point is that he would guard the other PG...you can have Barkley bring the ball up in the half court set and then get into the offense and both BJ or Barkley could run the break (which we saw last year). With White's outside shooting ability, having these 3 together just makes sense and since Ngeze or Williams (don't know about Riak) can run and be a nice trailer....that gives you the athletes to compete in the conference. If Washington can be a low post presence in the half court game, block some shots and rebound, that's a fair lineup.

With that lineup ECU may be able to get out of that zone they had to play the last few years because of the defensive liability of Guilmette, Zangari or Aja in the post. Depends how good Washington and Riak are defensively...certainly Williams is good defensively, Ngeze may be ok defending a 4, depends on the matchup.

Gives the freshmen time to work their way into the lineup and should be a nice defensive team with better rebounding (with Barkley playing SF).

I don’t see where this was posted, so this seems like the appropriate place.

Lebo landed a surprise signing that will be eligible for play this season.

Jabari Craig – 6’10” 235lbs (JR)
JUCO transfer with very modest numbers, but was heavily recruited/offered out of high school. He had offers from: USC, Arizona State, Arizona, Auburn, Clemson, UCONN, FSU, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Houston, KSU, LSU, Marquette, Memphis, Miss State, New Mexico, Purdue, South Carolina, Texas A&M

ECU has added some serious size in the post with 7’1” Andre Washington and 6’10” Jabari Craig, to go along with 6’10” RS-FR Deng Riak.

It will be nice to see ECU at least LOOK like a D1 team for a change. Whether or not they pan out is yet to be seen.

This is a good late signing pick up, but past being a body who can eat up some minutes you may want to pump the brakes a bit.

Yes he had a lot of P5 offers and choose USC but he couldn’t get on campus because he was academically ineligible. Then in 2014 he signed a letter of intent to play at Hutchsion Community College in Kansas, but didn’t end up there. He played last year for Pearl River Community College where he played in 21 games but only started 4. He averaged 8 minutes, 3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 0.1 assists per game. He had no significant offers so he committed to and signed a letter of intent to Cal State Northridge in the Big West Conference before flipping to ECU.

Academically you may have an issue getting him on the court and with his level of JUCO stats I can’t see him being much of a factor given the AAC level of competition. If this guy has more than 1 year of eligibility left all he is doing is eating a scholarship and he isn’t going to help getting your roster to an AAC level of talent.
