I don't know if a 1 loss Duke gets in, but an undefeated AAC school does not. The system isn't fair, but that's how it works.

Only if:

* Duke beats an undefeated Clemson for the ACC title, and

* The undefeated AAC team is Houston

I said it when Louisville was in The American and I will say it now:

If you have to be top 4 to make the CFP, The American champion no matter who it is, will never be ranked higher than 5th.

I know it's not right but the system will never be allowed to be fair.

If Temple beats Notre Dame and runs the table versus Memphis and Houston, I would think they would be in over Duke even if Duke beats Clemson in the ACC Champ.

I guess that point is moot.

The point is moot now.

I'll soon start a thread, "Would a two-loss Duke get into the CFP over a collection of referees who correctly use "replay"

I don't know if Duke would but I know that you could count on those refs getting the call wrong even with replay.

Or refs who don't call phantom penalties on each play 03-razz

I don't think it'd be likely either one would make it in. Depending on the year I would say an undefeated from the AAC has a better shot.
