This is a bad precedent for the ACC because literally every officiating crew they have is incompetent and worthy of being suspended after every game they officiate.

Have you looked around the country? The ACC refs are above average. Maybe my expectations are just low after watching the BE refs butchering the rule book on a weekly basis.

So our own refs screwed up and cost us a ranked team this week. That's unACCeptable.

I agree but you have to look at it from the ACC's perspective.....if they fired them for incompetence then they would have to fire the rest of their crews and Lord knows how Ron Cherry would make a living if that happened.

What I do wonder is does this affect the crew's ability to work games for other conferences. I know that ACC crews work SoCon, MEAC and some DII games as an entire crew.

I'm sure someone out there would give Ron Cherry some business.

If anyone from this crew is ever assigned a Duke game again, I think it's time to think about returning that phone call from Birmingham.

Duke football in the SEC? Why don't you just set your stadium on fire and disband the team?

+1. Could've had 4 top 25 teams and TWO top 25 games this weekend alone!
Why, ACC, why?

Well it also is necessary for an ACC program with a Power name that still resonates with much of the nation to get back on track to winning ways. Miami was in control of the game and those same Refs made a lot of suspicious calls leading up to Dukes last IMO near TD. I'm probably biased as I grew up in the greater Miami area as a Youth and followed the Hurricanes and loved the 1980's and early '90's teams and a Big Fan of Howard Schnellenberger, But I think it was a fitting end and hopefully can spark Miami and Larry Scott a rise upwards, back to Glory Days .

Miami does need to "get back". IMO, they were improved in some areas even this year. Whoever the Canes hire to replace Golden, he needs to be a coach that can teach his team how to fini...
