Quick Picks and notes vs. W&M
I expect a 20 pt. loss. That is all.

Not 20 but 11 point loss. We can expect many of these this year. At least the woman looked good beating Elon to go 3-0. NC State comes into the Vines Center for the women on Friday. The men, well we only lost by 11. Get used to that this year.

It was closer and much more competitive than I expected. The team has potential and needs some added depth and athleticism. But, what team doesn't need that? Will still be a long year.

It was more competitive than I thought also. My guess is this is about as good as this team can play with the talent and lack of bigs.

I thought we had a chance and was very surprised when we were leading by three at halftime. But that makes an 11 point loss sting a little more knowing we were outscored by 14 in the second half.

I didn't expect to win but it was mostly competitive. I don't believe in moral victories but there are some things to build off of.

What a difference in coaching. There's allot of really young kids on this team. With the class coming in next year, I'm really excited.

Agree with the attitude of the players and the enthusiasm and how they played. The kids last year played with effort void of enthusiasm. That has returned which is good. McKay is good enough of a coach to steal a victory or two this year. He does seem to get more effort from his players, and makes adjustments sooner than Layer. With the game being at home with the home crowd that also helps. If this game had been at Williamsburg, the margin would have been much bigger.
