Ridiculous? Maybe. Brown is one of the best DC's. What he did to turnaround your defense was outstanding. Part of my other concern for you is the fact the other teams around you are upgrading. Townes definitely should help improve the putrid offense, but if the defense falls off, you're not gaining anything.

Boston College is in a division with Clemson, FSU, and Louisville....Syracuse and NC State aren't easy outs either....

Next year they have an easier OOC schedule, so hopefully they can get bowl eligible and start trying to build a foundation of winning. The Atlantic Division Title will be an uphill battle though

This year they won 3 of 4 OOC. How much easier is it going to get? Seems like their problem was in conference (0-8).

Prior to this season, their conference record in the ACC was 42-38. One season does not a perennial doormat make.

I think BC will be solid as long as they have that head coach and with a servicable QB like the Kentucky transfer.

This UNC person thinks UNC will be a top program in the conference next year without the QB they had this year, but is predicting BC to suck b/c of a defensive coordinator leaving.

And, by his logic, UNC should become the doormat of the Coastal Division because somebody took their OC.

And it's much more likely since UNC has 100+ years of history as a doormat.

It's also more likely you don't know the definition of the word doormat. Over the course of the history of the ACC (60+ years), we've only been last like 5 or 6 times. Furthermore, you have to go all the way back to 1989 for the last time we didn't win a conference game. Even Bunting and Torbush were able to win at least one.

the fun thing about sports is there is always a surprise. BC may be in playoffs next year for all we know. crazier things have happened. UNC was on the cusp this year after being 5-6 last year.

you can't name anything else i was wrong about, except maybe i slipped up and said FSU only won 1 ACC title in 8 years. I was thinking about the 6 years in a row they didn't win it and this year they didn't win it.

So they won 3 ACC titles in 10 years and only 1 natty since 1999. Not exactly dominant like they were in the 90s (even then only 2 natties). 2019 will be here before you know it and wouldn't be surprising if FSU hasn't won another national title. So 1 title in 20 years, maybe longer. One could argue FSU is a program in decline.

your DC gave up a ton of yards to Clemson. if you had played more teams with solid QBs would probably have had another 6-7 season. Chances of G Tech, Va Tech, Miami being as bad as they were this year simultaneously is pretty low.

Yeah ok. Clemson put up over 500 yards on FSU which has a better D than we do so that's not saying much.

Miami went 8-4 and GT went 3-9, how in the world are you putting them in the same sentence?

Close to last against the run and close to first against the pass. It was the first year for the defensive coaches and they shaved almost 20 ppg off points allowed which is way more important.

miami was really bad in the trenches this year. the fact they went 8-4 in ACC kind of proves the ACC wasn't better this year than in the 00s. lol
