Hewitt ran the clogged toilet offense but there was so much NBA talent around occasionally they'd overcome the system and the coach and win. But they also played no defense and couldn't inbound the ball or hit free throws.

Gregory runs the clogged toilet offense as well. Only now there is no NBA talent so they're firmly stuck in the system and the coaching. But they do at least play decent defense, rebound, inbound, and aren't wholly terrible at FTs either. So there is that.

Huge NCAA seeding game tonight. FSU @ Cuse both teams need this win tonight. The winner is pretty solid going forward, the loser is back on the bubble.

That game set back offensive basketball 20 years.

The guy is playing nothing but Freshmen and Sophomores, with the exception of Miller-McIntyre (who has been absolutely horrid this year) and Devin Thomas.

It was always going to be an uphill battle his first 2-3 years as the roster situation got worked out. IMO, Wake had the biggest re-building job out of any program that hired new coaches in 2014/15, off the basis that the scholarship situation Bzdelik created was so just terrible (When Manning took over the rising Junior class had 7 players in it).

Manning has made it clear, that despite the roster, that he's going to play how he wants to play (get up and down the floor and play 10 deep, which is the reasoning for some of the funky lineups). Which is bad for the short term, but could be very rewarding in the long term. Want to see how they play when Manning has a roster of upper classmen (or at least..y'know..more than 2 on the entire roster) that are mostly his guys before I make a judgment on Manning's coaching abilities.

Cuse is back...7-5 in ACC. 17-8 overall. 13-3 under Boeheim...a team the Top 4 seeds do not want any part of.

Once again Duke gets homecourt referee help with Grayson Allen's 4 or 5 steps not being called before his winning shot. Life in the ACC is back to normal.

ND (18-7; 9-4) had a nice win at home today against #13 Louisville, 71-66.

Not a bad week for ND basketball, who also beat #2 North Carolina and Clemson this week.

Those aren't the L's that we're looking for.

RE: Open Thread - Men's Hoops
FSU is being buried beneath an avalanche of 3's. I just watched GT make 3 consecutive 3 pointers. Pretty sure I haven't seen that since Anthony Morrow and Jarret Jack wore the uniforms.

We'll see if Gregory still manages to pull out a Gregory with a lead this big.

Jesus Tapdancing Christ.

If I were AD, I'd fire Gregory court side as soon as it hits all 0's.

This is a microcosm of how terrible he is at this level.
