I've been doing good... My diet per say hasn't changed... It's that I've been working out and drinking less liquor... Kinda happy this got set up... I started at 180 and is down to 170... Hopefully I can add a diet and drop to about 155.

I'm happy with my progress. All of what I've lost so far has been re-loss trying to get back to where I was last summer. 6 more pounds and I'll start breaking new ground again. Unfortunately yesterday I hurt my knee after slipping and falling in the snow, so I won't be able to exercise for a while. Going to have to really focus on the diet for the next 3-4 weeks if I hope to continue losing. If I lose another 20 (the 6 of re-loss, plus another 14), I'll have lost 100 from my maximum weight which was about 4 years ago.

Strained one of my quadriceps last night doing some squats.

AWESOME!

It is not a bad strain, seems to be just a grade 1 strain, but we'll see how soon I can continue training.

I should be near my target weight about that time and would be more focused on strength. Plus I have a ton of travel around then.

If I make it, I will compete. The competitive side won't let me not try to win.

[Bill Burr] I'm turning this franchise around. I've started a new winning tradition. We're drafting well. We signed some good free agents. I think we got a shot at the playoffs, fellas! [/Bill Burr]

Is there anybody else here doing this through keto? I find I'll hit a day to three where nothing comes off or there are slow gains. And then the floor just falls out and like 5-6 ibs comes off in one night. This seems to happen every 7-10 days or so.

I have something similar. I've been weight myself daily to see what's going on from day to day. I don't try to be in full keto, so I'm not sure if that's the reason or if it's more related to water retention. I'm not sure about this, but I think water will displace fat in the cells temporarily as fat is lost and then the sudden drop is due to the water being expelled from the system.

Since Tuesday I dropped 10lbs simply because of the stomach flu... Not exactly the way I wanted to lose weight.

We've officially passed the halfway point of the regular season. Each week now I'll start posting the playoff watch so you can see if you're on pace to make the playoffs or not.

Anybody doing anything odd/unique to help with their weight loss? I'm following the slow-carb diet (which I've done on and off for almost 5 years now). However one thing detailed in the diet that I couldn't do up until very recently was to have grapefruit juice before a cheat meal. Now that I'm off a certain medicine, I can do this, and while I've had a rough 8 or 9 days (4 cheat meals, 2 more than I would have preferred), I'm still down a little bit over those 9 days. No idea if the grapefruit juice has helped or if it's just a placebo, but I'll take it!

RE: CSNBBS Weight Loss League - Official Thread
Nothing unusual on my end. Trying to eat at a caloric deficit - about 1800 to 2000 cal/day, lifting weights (trying a periodization routine I put together) and cardio. I still think that the largest part of the equation is based on the right energy balance - with a few caveats. One is the energy balance stops telling the complete story if your macro's are significantly off balance. Let's say you're eating 1800 cal/day, but 100% of your calories are from carbs. In this case I can see weight loss stalling because you would 1) retain more water and 2) lose muscle mass due to no protein. As long as you have sufficient protein in your diet to cover your muscle needs to at least preserve them during weight loss then your metabolism will remain at a higher level. Also, higher levels of protein and fats help you stay full longer and helps to reduce cravings. I know some swear that carbs need to be severely restricted, but I don't think it's a req't of healthy weight loss. Carbs definitely should be cut because 300g/day is excessive IMHO and the USDA recommends that primarily because of the lobbyists of ADM, Monsanto, etc.
