that is correct....that is their job....

the school hasn't changed....the players are still players....

their job is not an easy one....now we find out how good they are...

I wasn't even used to not sucking anymore.

I'm sure if he could, he'd make it where he could accept the job a month or two ago to not leave USM screwed like they may/may not be.

and that's the pickle we as fans are now in....

All assistance coaches have committed to staying put (we will see about that).

But if true, at least until after Feb 3rd, it could really be huge in keeping the recruiting class together.

The good news, we are in good shape to bring a good coach with big buy out.

I imagine David Duggan, Chip Lindsey, and Blake Anderson will get a good look. I would be happy with any of those. We should be able to keep most of our staff in place.

Who is OSU's OC?

the one thing that I misjudged was his gambling balls....if he sticks it out next year and we gain the access bowl, he names his number at a higher level....

that's the caveat that is most concerning....

Looks a USM got a Sonny Dykes type of deal on this one. Load up on JC's and skip town but at least you should have a solid team next season. Best of luck in hiring a new HC.

Wow! What a classless move by Monken.

Tech should make a huge push again for Dantzler. He tweeted this morning how much it meant for him to be hosted at Coach Monken's home. Talked about what a real person Monken was. He is gone like most of the other recruits. USM set themselves up for all of this garbage when they fired Bower. Traded a great, loyal coach for this crap.

With Baker already in the bag I think our coaches are going after Mason more than Dantzler now. I hope that you hold to your recruits USM 04-cheers

Of course. Where else are they going to go? Most of the staff will be eligible for a promotion OC/DC->HC and Position Coach->OC/DC.

lost our OC to az state last month. I'm not a huge fan of promoting defensive coaches to head coach. that was one of the many problems with he-who-shall-not-be-named.

I was told he applied for the ECU HC job and got reviewed by the search firm but did not get an interview with the AD (think he interviewed 7 in the first round). I wonder if Monken was just ready to move on or if he was just pursuing what he felt were good opportunities for him.

David Duggan is our DC

Chip Lindsey our OC Just went to Airzona and might could come back as HC.

We could also go with Blake Anderson who was our previuos OC under Fedora.

I was encouraged by the "within a week" comment. it leads me to hope that he already has a plan in mind.

You hire within a week so you have someone in place by signing day. But it sounds internal to me.

Any heat on McGillis? He seems to be pretty unpopular, and has made some boneheaded moves there.

Duggan is the only one currently on staff with the credentials to be a head coach. I've heard nothing but good things from people in the program. Just don't know if he wants to do it. Would rather get an OC from and FBS school or a young, offensive minded HC from and FCS school. That formula has worked for us in the past.
