Anyone seen DePaul and how they look?

I think JMU got a pretty good 1st round matchup.

DePaul ranked 20 nationally and Winners of the Big East regular season by four games, but lost in the Big East Championship game. Seem like they dropped a lot to be a 6 seed.

It's going to be a tough match-up for us based on our one common opponent. We lost to St. Bonaventure by 11. DePaul beat them by 23.

Tough no doubt. But Jmu is quite a bit better now than they were then, imo. Go Dukes!

Hate to say this but I don't think JMU is as good this year as they have been in the past. No signature wins. They ran through a pretty average CAA. I will be rooting for them but fear we all may be in for a shock. The one thing that gives me hope is that this team did get better as the year went on and they do play very good defense.

I don't know a lot about how good each conference is but it seems the void between big conference schools and mid majors is greater in women's basketball. Just not as many great women's players to go around as there are men.

Glad we made the tournament, despite losing our best player. And I think we got a decent draw and seed considering our body of work. But I'm concerned that we simply can't hit the broadside of a barn. It really is a terrible shooting team. We're not going to keep getting offensive rebounds against tourney teams. I'd be ecstatic if we pulled off a 1st round upset. Go get 'em Kenny and the girls!

Was this the first time that an NCAA selection show actually showed our fan reaction? I feel like it was. Glad to see it.

I'm with you Nation. This team is certainly not as good as the last couple. Amazingly consistent and what a streak. Perhaps kenny's best coaching job. BUT this team plays well as a team.... I'm not counting them out...

We have a second common opponent. We both lost to #1 seed Baylor by 14. That St Bonaventure game was one of our worst all year, and it was on the road, DePaul beat them at home.

I think they can pull off the upset. They need Jaz and Ash to shoot well and need the key players to stay out of foul trouble. The team defense has really improved since early on.

We have had far worse 1st round games. I think we have a good chance.
While I agree this may not be the strongest team Kenny has brought to the tourney, but I think they are going to shock some people. They have something to prove and I think they will do just that.

I was hoping to see posts from people saying that they were heading to Louisville for St. Patrick's Day on Thursday and JMU basketball on Friday.

OK I will be the first. Mr. and Mrs. jmuroadwarrior are celebrating St. Patrick's Day on Thursday in Louisville and JMU WBB on Friday.

For what it's worth, 3 CAA teams in the WNIT - Drexel, Elon, and Hofstra. The conference wasn't as weak as it seemed.

Ironically the Men's 2-4 were just as strong but got only one in. Men's is where the money is......

Difference between 32 and 64 teams as well.

I was watching Sportscenter this morning and they did a quick promo for the start of the women's tourney before going to commercial. One of the anchors was reading through the first four games on Friday and got down to James Madison and said (paraphrasing because I don't remember his exact words), "nice to see Harrisonburg, VA represented with James Madison playing Depaul". Made me happy.
