RE: [Villanova-Oklahoma] This score is mildly surprising...
Nobody could possibly see a 44-point victory. This was a good Oklahoma team, a team that was well-coached, had lots of talent, and spent time at #1 this year.
Amazing performance by Villanova.

I agree the Final Four should be played an arena is not domes. It would just make it a much better experience for everyone.
I disagree that the ACC is not the strongest conference. It's very clear that the ACC is the best conference in college basketball and will be going forward. Just look at the programs. It's like a Who's Who of college basketball. Honestly, it's not even close.
They were guaranteed of having a team in the finals by last Friday. That is completely unheard of.

Yes but ... this tournament is really the first time the ACC's obvious on-paper superiority (in terms of number of blue-chip programs) has manifest itself. It didn't manifest at all last year, and not really during this regular season either.
We'll see about it going forward.

OU lead 17-16, then it was 79-34 after that, including a 35-5 run in the 2nd half. When you look at how they started out the first 10 minutes, it was even more of a rout.

It's 1 tournament. Also, the ACC has a whole lot of change coming up. With change comes uncertainty.

yeah when Hart made that one incredible shot in the 2nd half from the free throw line(the fade away one)- made the score 56-41. There was a TV timeout with 11:55 to go. They then did that long bomb inbounds play for a bucket with 11:53 to go. 59-41 with the FT with that. 5 minutes later the score was 79-41, and it was over. Nova took the heart out of Oklahoma. That was the most amazing part of the game.

true but UNC very possibly won't be eligible. Duke has kids so you never know-they're going to be counting on freshmen quite a bit. And Virginia- how will they bounce back after the loss last Sunday.

Very valid points....now what the ACC is facing is the upcoming retirements of Coach K, Boehiem, Pitino and Roy Williams...very important decisions coming up for those programs.

you know what's maybe even more amazing than just the biggest MOV in a final 4 game......
the game last night was the tie for 13th largest MOV in ANY NCAA tourney game. The last time games had a larger MOV in the tourney were 3 years ago- VCU over Akron by 46 and Syracuse over Montana by 47.

yeah I totally agree. Syracuse saw the dangers of it earlier when Boehiem was out for 9 games and they only go 4-5 with some dreadful losses.
