I'm truly shocked that an 0-12 UCF isn't #128.

I'm surprised by a few picks but overall I think it is pretty decent.

There were a few big gambles on there (BCU at 57???) but I agree pretty decent list.

In previous years the CFN lists were very much a joke. We'll see if they are any better this year.

They love the SEC...3 out of the Top 4 are SEC Schools...LSU, Tennessee and Alabama.

They have:
1) no ACC (or Pac-12) team in the playoffs... but Boise State is?
2) Louisville winning the ACC championship?
3) Yet Clemson getting the ONE at-large spot?
4) Miami finishing ahead of Florida State?
5) Notre Dame falling to the Sun Bowl?
6) NC State returning to the St. Pete Bowl after one year?
7) Pitt returning to the Birmingham Bowl? (OK, this part is true).

This is about as dumb as it gets, in my opinion. You have a three-win Wake Forest ranked over an 11-win Appalachian State? There's a difference in potential and record, but I think they're getting the two mixed up at this point.

CFN has always been a P5 fanboy. Purdue is too high also. Their listing is like a stopped clock, every so often it's right, the rest of the time, not so much.

I'd be surprised if they were right even that often.

For about 5 years running, they'd list NIU in the 70s or 80s on their list, and as the year went on and we won most of the games, they would grudgingly move us up slightly until at the end of the year we'd be in the 30s or 40s (even if we were ranked at the time). At a minimum we were getting a bunch of votes for the Top 25. Then, next year, they'd start us in the 70s and 80s again, and then grudgingly move us up as the year went on. Happened every year. They might be right this year though, hence the stopped clock analogy.

Tennessee was one of the ones I thought was a bit out of place, but 2 out of the top 4, being UA and LSU, is not surprising.

Tennessee should win the SEC East and is a legit Top 10 team but no way I could put them in the Top 4 especially over Oklahoma.

ECU is at 83. The same exact spot these guys had us at the end of last season....lazy

If the Cotton Bowl was available, I could see Houston getting an extra G5 slot. But with Sugar contractually obligated to the SEC/Big 12-2, there's no NY6 bowl UH's fanbase core is within easy driving distance of. Now maybe Houston could make the Final Four and Boise or BYU can make the Fiesta Bowl or perhaps South Florida may be invited into one of the Florida bowls.

Also, CFN sucks.
