Here's another showing north endzone progress:

I graduated and the drones were going all day. I’m not sure why they didn’t upload it. As far as the stadium it is really big. Much larger than I expected. The crowd was so loud when cheering. It is going to be a great home field advantage for us. Hats off the IM and Jr they got this one right!

Thank you! I had an awesome time. I’ll tell you, that stadium is going to be crazy for the ODU game.

How long does that take?

Commencement is about 2 1/2 hours then individual degree ceremonies take roughly 1-2 hours.

Is it all done in the stadium? I thought individual degrees were done by school of discipline at different times or locations.

Commencement is at the Stadium then they split up by colleges. Mine was held at the track facility.

RE: Time to expand Williams Stadium
Arrived this morning from FL to Lynchburg. Am working the next 2 days in the area. Went to Staples in Lynchburg and as I departed road through LU. Expansion is very impressive. It was almost 8pm and getting dark and there were still workmen there. With 4 days to go, there is lots to still be done. Lots of exposed red clay that needs grass or sod. If weather is inclement, it could be a problem. The expansion and first impression will serve LU very well.

If you know where the Staples is nearby, I departed there towards Williams Stadium. The stately sight of the expanded East side was quite a sight. Jeffersonian and stately in appearance. I was surprised of the impact. Part of it had to be it is very close to the road. It's quite a site. I won't be there on Saturday but will be watching on ESPN3.

I will be looking at the stats during the game. Although I have a ticket, I will be involved in a wedding this weekend. I hope that everyone who is going to watch the game at The Bill will have an awesome game experience!

It’s really nice but kind of a disappointment compared to the original design.

I was disappointed as well but then I I actually look at the sketches and was impressed. Yes I did like the glass physique at the rear of the FOC and maybe that would be a quick add on. I do understand why they cancel the east and west wing, considering that expanded seat would be place there in another phase.

Hopefully the changes allows more seating to bolster future attendance. Looks good!

RE: Time to expand Williams Stadium
Once the FOC is complete, do you think the next expansion/improvemwnt at the stadium will be, even if it’s years down the road? ..... maybe adding seats where the birm is?

I wonder what changed to make them switch the design? I can’t imagine it was a money issue. The old design did look more grand.

The next improvement will be expanding the home side press box. Filling in the berm would follow. As far as the smaller expansion of the FOC I’ve heard it was to add more seats in the corners down the road.
