Liberty has 8 home games vs Cartel 5 scheduled from 2018 to 2031.

How on earth does Liberty have nearly at many C5 home games scheduled as the entire SBC and MAC?

I guess it has to do with the SBC and MAC going after one and done payday games while Liberty is bankrolled by rich televangelists so they don't need those games.

Updated for:
UCF getting Georgia Tech at home (Make up from last season)
Eastern Michigan deciding to take the $ and not play Kentucky at home puts MAC in last place among the FBS conferences with only 8 future home games scheduled with the A5 conferences. (AAC and MWC have over 50 scheduled for a comparison)

Frustrating that SMU can't get football/basketball home and homes with Big 12 schools outside of TCU. SMU needs a new AD with Big 12 connections.

We won’t do buy games with them. Many already play in Dallas and have no need to visit plus eff them

They will play us in basketball if we play at the AAC but hire ups don’t want to give up a home game but I bet that changes after this season after the uproar about this year’s schedule

It's soft, but if you're a bottom half AAC team it's smart. Want to kill your season in September? Play a strong non conference slate that you are not ready for.

True, but then they should be scheduling bottom tier Cartel teams. IMO at a minimum everyone should be scheduling 2 Cartels or 1 Cartel/1 high-end Non-Cartel (Boise/SDSU/BYU). It's all about optics these days.

It seems it would be hard to get Big 12-2 games because all play TCU (Dallas) every other year for recruiting. It seems it would be easier to get PAC teams H&H at this time. UCF still has a home game with Stanford in 2019, although that could change.

When you put together schedules for 5-7 years out based on your 2017 performance, you set yourself up to play a cupcake schedule when your team is actually good. If SMU is any good in 2020-2021, no one will notice with that schedule.

Agreed. ECU would sometimes schedule 4 Cartel OOC games during the CUSA days. Plus CUSA was a tough underrated conference back then. Not any different than today’s AAC schedule really IMHO.
Right now 3 Cartels and either Boise/San Diego St/Fresno St/Air Force/Colorado St/BYU would be a great schedule. If one of those big name MWC schools can’t be scheduled then a tough regional game for the fans like a Marshall/USM/Army should be put on the schedule.

P.S. I’m all for scheduling Hawaii OOC too.
1. You get 5 OOC games when you play at Hawaii
2. Week 0 exposure is huge. (New Mexico St is on ESPN in week 0)

Far be it from me to defend anything involving SMU, but it really is hard for SMU and UNT to get those Cartel games at home. They dont need us to get into the DFW area. Texas and Oklahoma already play in the Cotton Bowl and Texas A&M and Arkansas play at Jerry World most years. As has been said, all of the Big12 schools play TCU in Fort Worth every other year. And now it seems like all the other Cartel schools just schedule each other in Cowboys Stadium and bypass us completely. Ford and Apogee are beautiful stadiums but it's way sexier for the cartel schools to get big preseason matches in Arlington with each other on network TV.

I think you're only saving grace is that schools wanting to get DFW exposure would have a greater expectation of winning when scheduling North Texas or SMU instead of The B12/SEC alternatives. Seems like you could lure a team like Washington State in who doesn't want to risk losing to Texas A&M or TCU.

That's fair. And probably how we got Cal and Texas Tech to agree to games at Apogee. They have to weigh the risk/reward of playing us. If they lose, it looks bad for them.

Not sure if its been added but Colorado St and Colorado renew series for 2023 -2024.
This one will be played at the campuses and not a neutral site.

This needs an update. Iowa State scheduled game with Tulane and Bowling Green, ECU added H&H with NC State, not sure on others from last month.
