ODU has 6 future home games with P5's scheduled. We have a total of 13 P5's on our future schedule. Not bad for a school that became full FBS 3 years ago. When our new stadium is completed (2019), I believe we will see many more at our home in the future.

Yes, I'm aware of ODU getting P5 games. It's very impressive, and I've commented on it before. How big is your new stadium that's getting completed by 2019 going to be?

RE: Home games vs P5 by conference
ODU added 6 more games with VT. 3 home & 3 away. It's now a 13 game series beginning this year and ending in 2031.

http://www.odusports.com/ViewArticle.dbm...=211658104

So 9 P5 home games on the books for ODU now I think.

To answer your other question. First phase of stadium rebuild will only be about 22k seats. Final phase would take it to 30k.

Will it have the infrastructure to add onto the 30K at a later date or would it need a complete overhaul? That could seriously hinder your chances at a future conference upgrade.

Today ODU announced the continuation of the VA Tech series....adding 3 more home games
moving our total to 9 home games with P5 programs and a total of 19 P5 games in the future.

The Hokies and the Monarchs are set to meet for the first time on September 23, 2017 in Lane Stadium.

The six-game series kicks off in Blacksburg in 2026, alternating venues over the next five seasons.
Sept. 12, 2026 vs. Old Dominion
Sept. 11, 2027 at Old Dominion
Sept. 9, 2028   vs. Old Dominion
Sept. 22, 2029 at Old Dominion
Sept. 21, 2030 vs. Old Dominion
Sept. 6, 2031   at Old Dominion

The new stadium will open in 2019 at 22,500 expandable to 30K with a Phase II. Beyond that it sounds like it will be expandable to 35K, from what I understand. I think that will also happen very quickly. ODU is on the brink of selling out this years allotted 17,000 season tickets for 2017. We always give 2,000 for visiting teams, and the remaining for students. Just as in years past we will continue to sell out every game played at SB Ballard now and in the future.

VT helping Liberty and ODU out. It's also nice to play in the more populated areas of your state.

Yeah, they would be great and would make sense. You shared a conference with Cuse and Pitt after all. Good long time rivals; regional. Makes too much sense.

Pitt is too busy publicly begging Penn State to play in football after the current series is up. Temple has tried with them (in basketball too).

Great that Temple gets the home game first. Maybe you end up buying out the return game... 03-nutkick

Temple cancelled a home game with Army to schedule this game with Geirgia Tech. I'm happy as Army can schedule a home game in place of this road game. Win win for both probably.
