Hint, the B1G didn't hire ESPN or FOX to do the research.

Hint, nobody ever hires them. They simply call them and ask what kind of bump in pay would hypothetical addition so and so NET us? Consulting firms are hired so they have publishable results to use to sell the moves to a broader audience than just the Commissioner and Presidents. It's part of the P.R. of a move. In the recent case of the Big 12 it was publishable P.R. that laid out why it was not profitable to make additions, except for within one narrow perspective. Their PR work was in trying to set the stage for what may yet come.
