Yes football sucked under Randy Edsall. But we have a new coach who has done a pretty decent job recruiting. Plus the $150 million UA Performance Center will be completed sometime next spring. So unless the new coach is a total dud, I'd say things are looking up for Maryland football.

It appears we finally have an administration in place that supports football. Hopefully we'll be competitive soon and quiet some of Maryland's detractors on the other boards (the reason this thread was created over on the CR board).

Don't get too competitive in football. I don't want you winning any more against Penn State. But welcome to the Big Ten and I'm glad you're here. Don't let the other conference fans bust your balls. That goes for you too, Rutgers.

The victories in Field Hockey and Lacrosse are not surprising as those sports have a great following and more high schools play them in the New England & Atlantic Coastal states than in the midwest where most of Big 10 is based.

Lacrosse participation is skyrocketing in the midwest (and in pockets of the rest of the nation as well. I expect the Big 10 to improve dramatically in that sport and the fan interest to multiply

LOL...fans from G5 schools and backfill schools (to borrow a term from Quo) don't bother me one bit.
