Larry Brown and SMU
Brown has resigned at SMU, something that everyone pretty much expected. And it looks like Tim Jankovich - ex coach at Illinois St will succeed. Brown was a good coach for the most part, but he probably needed to retire sooner since he created a mess at SMU and the AAC. Its a good thing he won't linger around and SMU needs to regain their reputation as a clean MBB program. If that occurs quickly, the AAC and teams like TU will forgive and forget. There is a lesson in this for us all - don't pass up a chance to retire when the opportunity arises.

I think SMU will eventually help the league, but right now they are a drag with bad FB and MBB perceived as "dirty". I predicted Shake Milton wouldn't be there long and I still think thats the case. But he probably won't be the only one to leave.

I hope this kind of thing never happens again. No-one came out a winner.
