I know how you feel, General Mike.

I am that way with the BTN. I don't know what DirecTV channel it is on, have not nor ever will watch it and I dislike that I pay .10/mo. to the Big Ten.

But, such is the way of the sports TV business, I guess. The conference network business is built on extortion and on the backs of folks who won't watch their channels or who are even sports fans.

And yet you are celebrating and trolling all over the place in celebration over the ACC Network.

Another channel I won't get/ pay for. Previously I had all the sports channels as part of my cable package, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNews, ESPNU, CBS Sports, FS1, BTN, MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, NBC Sports, SEC and the local regional networks (MSG, MSG+, SNY and YES). I cut back my cable package to save money and now only get ESPN, 2, FS1, BTN, NBC Sports and the locals. I would occasionally watch the ACC Game of the Week on WLNY if nothing else was on, or the game that they had on the regional sports network packages, but if they move all those games to an ACC Network, well good for them on losing viewership.

Yep, I don't know anyone that will be getting the ACC Network either. It just isn't a draw for most of the country.

I'm going to pretty surprised if the new ACCN isn't packaged with ESPN/2/SECN for traditional cable and slim packages/ Sling TV and Playstation Vue. Until true a la cart comes, we all will be paying for it.

The same can be said for the BTN in many parts of the country as well as FS1 which barely registers with viewers . The bottom line it's up to ESPN to come up with a distribution/monetization plan. As long as the WWL has access to the amount & variety of programming it will get the ACCN solid distribution. They still haven't officially announced the new NBA digital channel they will offer that can be packaged with all their channels along with the ACCN & SECN

Not really. I am more celebrating the GOR extension because that locks down the ACC for 20 years and kills all of the "ND to the Big Ten" talk for my lifetime.

It won't stop the talk. It has no chance of happening, but people will talk about it anyway.

As for the Big 12. I think they will be OK and extend their grant of rights too. I think expanding to 12/14 for them is still a mistake, but think they'll end up at 12.

On the Big Ten, please no more expansion. Let's see how the already large increase (in percentage terms) goes for a decade or two before we even consider further expansion.
