Just so you know some history. ODU and ECU have played close to 50 MBB games. That's the 4th most of all teams we played, just behind VCU, JMU and W&M.

Ugh don't remind me of the Colonial Days. I still don't care. We suck in basketball.

That's great you're an ECU fan, I wouldn't expect you to. The only time I watch ECU in anything is when the 49ers play them.

If UCF and USF can share a conference; then why can't Memphis and Middle Tennessee share a conference? Why can't ECU - UNC Charlotte share a conference once again?

You do realize that ECU and Charlotte were in the same conference (CUSA) together just about a decade ago. Right?

Charlotte was only kicked out, because they didn't have football. How can it be any worse than USF? They just started up football not to long ago. Hell CUSA allowed UAB's football program into the league.

We aren't in a position (as a league) to wait for potential growth of a program. Look what it has done to the CUSA brand. They took 4+ teams with no history, success or guarantees in football. They watered down the league.

We need guarantees that all teams have history and potential to make a run at the conference Championship. Earn your stripes in the Sunbelt or make bad choices like CUSA. No time for that crap right now.

USF just made a better decision, they started this before this league shuffling really started as we see today. These other programs are just too late to the party.

Why so dismissive other than the "newbie football" stuff?

You need to earn it first. Win some games, pack your stadium, hire a good coach who leaves for a high profile job, knock off some P5 programs. Make a name for yourself. That is a start. Just because you haven't done that YET isn't bashing/hating. I get that it hurts. We all have warts. Football drives this bus.

You can't use UCF, USF and others as examples either. Different times, different parameters. You guys decided to get into the game too late (as of today). Maybe it'll change, but not as of today.

Earning it is the most important thing in realignment....said nobody ever anywhere.

Charlotte announces $200,000,000 Capital Campaign

Quote:UNC Charlotte unveiled a $200 million campaign Thursday aimed at boosting the school’s future through new facilities, renovating existing structures and creating scholarship endowments.

The campaign has already passed the halfway point, having raised $115,411,738, including lead gifts from Karen Popp (Class of 1980) and Demond Martin (Class of 1997).

Read more here: http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/lo...79317.html

Reportedly, half of the money is earmarked for athletics. None of the sports teams needs new primary facilities. Seems likely that a good portion of the money could be going towards football expansion and possibly an IPF.
