These people have ZERO track record for ever being right. Not once! In fact, the safer bet is to believe the exact opposite of what they say!

TopperCard reporting this morning that Colo St, Memphis, UMass, and Rice are the 4 teams for Big12 Expansion.

Confirmed for next Tuesday at noon!

Unfortunately, the media sources are not a whole lot better than twitter sources. 03-lmfao 03-banghead

To me, the most sensible thing to do is to look at who is making the decisions, look at who is available, and see if it makes sense. Unfortunately, the Big 12 has cost itself a billion dollars and Louisville by not expanding 5 years ago, and invited TCU over beers. 01-wingedeagle So, I'm not sure even logic and sense will work with Big 12 expansion. Twitter speculators may work just as well, as could throwing darts at a US map.

This thread was intended for your usual Tuesday humor...lol.

Anyways, in all reality, negotiations are still going on. Networks are trying to work a deal. ESPN is more tight-stringed than FOX, but they both realize the contracts are enforceable. But nothing is settled yet. They are still getting applications and calls, trying to do their research on them while that goes on.

I think we'll probably hear something in about 2 weeks. That week after the Olympics before the college football season really starts up in full.

Sounds reasonable to me. College football kicks off on Aug 26 with Hawaii v Cal, and on Aug 27 for those of you who care about FCS with NDSU.

So maybe the announcement will come sometime Aug 22 - 25.

Also confirmed for "next week", "later this month", and "before the Winter meetings", just to cover all the bases.

I was with you until the last sentence. I don't buy that for a second. They have been vetting schools since at least 1946 or so.

That could be a reasonable date. Interesting to see if it happens.
