Barry Tramel says UConn and BYU

It's an opinion piece, no insight into what the B12 is thinking, just what he thinks should be considered.

I agree

Exactly, it’s an opinion piece just like every other writer, blogger and twitter expert has been posting, and it should be taken with just as much credence as the rest, zero.

Just another case of if the guy writes what’s in line with what you want to hear he’s an insider and the only guy who is getting any real information, and if it's not what you want to hear he’s just another idiot who’s clueless about what’s really going on.

I've repeatedly said this...If Tramel inserted ones "favorite" team in his opinion piece then he's a genius and is right in line with what "other" sources say. Hilarious how people will only post the opinion pieces that support their favorite teams entry into the big 12. Its easier to see it as an outside observer with no dog in the fight.

Hilarious to see another poster fooled.

UCONN is not BE4evah's favorite team; it's his favorite team to troll/get others to do his dirty trolling work.

Kind of like how Rich 52c pretends to root for UConn so that his trashing takes on extra significance.

Well, the letter the Cincinnat president sent to the Big 12 and Bowlsby was only 4 lines. So that looks a bit different than the USF efforts.

It read as follows..

"Thanks for the invite
We look forward to joining the B12!
Those poor other schools
LOL"

RE: UConn President says no plans to lobby the Big 12
It appears that while UConn is not going public in its efforts to join the Big 12, make no mistake, they are desperate to get in:

President Herbst's Letter to the Big 12

President Herbst's Letter To Big 12: UConn Has "Strong Interest" In Joining

Jeff Jacobs
August 24, 2016
Courant Sports Columnist
"In case anyone still had a doubt about UConn's athletic intentions, a letter from school president Susan Herbst to Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby confirms the state university very much wants to be part of the Power Five conference."

Jeff Jacobs is universally regarded as the most connected sports writer to Uconn President Susan Herbst.

Dubious title: "Most connected."

She bristles publicly at the guy. He has no in with her. But then again, no one does.

I seem to recall that in a previous batch of documents released pursuant to a FOIA request that there were emails between Mr. Jacobs and President Herbst that indicated Mr. Jacobs had her ear. But I may be mistaken.
