RE: Athlon/Lindy/Sporting News
Make no mistake, the AAC is a very good basketball conference and has great potential for the long haul. We got 4 teams into the NCAA tourney last year - UCONN, Cincinnati, Temple and Tulsa and should have had another - SMU who was on probation. To compare, the A-10 only had 3 and the BigEast who produced the NC - Villanova only had 5. So there isn't much difference there. But what i'd like to see is some of the AAC teams who are traditionally at the bottom, rise and become more comptetitive. For instance, UCF hasn't been to the NCAA since 2005 (11 years), ECU since 1993 and Tulane since 1995. It helps the league to have those teams become better. And it has been 6 years since Houston has been in the big dance (2010) even though they went to the NIT last year. But of course, it would help the conference if SMU would repair its program and get back to the dance - cleanly. Hopefully those things will occur.

Since TU is practically a new team, I'd like to see us open up the Don a couple of hours prior to one of our home FB games so the fans can see our new players perform in a practice setting. It would spike interest and ticket sales. So please push for that if you can.

IMHO
