RE: Program Traditions
Just a thought:

Capacity after the expansion will be 25k. We have a huge military enrollment (I was in the AF). What if we did something outside the norm. What if we placed one seat in the stadium that is never to be used. We make it a POW seat and we classify that we never get a sellout because our POW seat remains empty. It would put us at a capacity of 25,001, one seat larger than JMU, and would be something that would separate us from other colleges. On top of that it would bring a lot of exposure on ESPN for Veterans Day and be something that would be a great tribute to the military.

Fantastic idea. Would support 100%.

As a Soldier, I think this is a FANTASTIC idea.
Someone needs to pass this to the decision makers.
Plus, LU is one of the most military friendly universities in the country. I wish our ROTC had a bigger game day presence/role.

RE: Program Traditions
Apparently there already is one POW seat. They should move it behind the berm. Make it the main part of the stadium.

RE: Program Traditions
Couple program traditions that are going away.

1. The field will no longer be accessible following games for fans. I am sad to see this go. LU was one of the few programs, if not the only, that allowed this. It was so family friendly and my kids loved the opportunity and it made them feel special. It was great to be anle to mix and mingle with players that came back out onto the field. It was great for photo ops too.

2. Kids will no longer be able to play on the berm during games. This was yet another thing that made LU unique and so family friendly. Too bad to see it go.

I learned of these listening to the Liberty Flames podcast and some admins from the athletic office were putting out new gameday policies.

Don’t we have like a pre game bon fire on Liberty Mountain or something, afterall, we are the Flames. That fire should be huge.

The red and blue lights flashing on the tower after scores looked fantastic.

RE: Program Traditions
Last season there was no “Gillville” right? Did the school do away with students camping out the night before games?

I didn’t look for it last season, but I also don’t remember streamers being thrown from the upper deck after a TD as in seasons past.

RE: Program Traditions
How about taking from what the Tampa Bay Rays do with their stadium, & light up the Vines Center either blue or red after either our Football or Basketball teams win?

Everyone dumps on the Trop, but I gotta say, it's really cool to see the dome lit up orange after any victory, & I think it's one of the coolest traditions in the MLB.

My only complaint with that, is that it's hard to tell what they're lighting the Tower up for. I would totally be on board with it if they had one particular pattern or color that stood out that made people know: Liberty won! Just seems most days when I pass it, they have a different color or pattern.

We all knew when the Falwell's granddaughter was born based on the Tower's pink light, but how do we know that a color means Liberty was victorious?

Again totally on board with lighting the Tower, just want something that screams victory.02-13-banana

We need a stadium full of those hand held artificial torches.

I'm not against lighting something up but ideally everyone will either be at the game, watching/listening to the game, or be getting alerts about the game. Maybe do it for away games.

I understand the monogram on the mountain is having lights installed. Light that up in red following wins.

This would be ideal!
