Singer says 76ers nixed her National Anthem performance over 'We Matter' jersey
Quote:The 76ers promoted her appearance before the game offering fans a chance to sit with her courtside during the third quarter.
The franchise issued a statement on the situation, but declined to say why Streeter’s performance was canceled.
"The Philadelphia 76ers organization encourages meaningful actions to drive social change. We use our games to bring people together, to build trust and to strengthen our communities. As we move from symbolic gestures to action, we will continue to leverage our platform to positively impact our community.”
The Sixers had a member of their dance team sing the anthem.

The NBA sees the ratings decline in NFL due to the political stuff mixing in. NBA is not letting that happen, good move on their part.

I believe the NBA requires players to stand during the National Anthem.

Here's an idea: Play the national anthem for the crowd only, before the teams come out of the lockers. No more kneeling or slogans. Let the paying customers sit or stand, whatever they want to do.
These are private businesses. They can set rules if they feel their employees' "political expressions" are damaging the brand.
I get it's now tradition, but why even have these anthems at all. No other 'business' outside of political addresses or military makes their employees line up and recite the anthem every morning. Reason: Politics and religion debates at the workplace can have a negative effect on teamwork and ultimately bottom line.

There is no proof whatsoever that the lose in rating in the NFL has anything to do with the political stuff.
Have you even watched a game this season. The drop in rating is more likely a result of just terrible football.
There are no undefeated teams and the last one to fall, the Minnesota Vikings, made it to 5-0 with a backup QB and RB.
The league just sucks this year.
