The Tulsa World - Picker
One of the reasons I don't subscribe to the TW is its sports page which is not very good to begin with and very local unfriendly to boot. However I do occasionally go to the website to check out headlines and today I notice there is a "piece" from the "Picker" that suggests PM will be gone soon since he's had success here. That also suggests that PM is too good for TU and he'd be better off to leave while he can get the heck out.

But PM is loved and appreciaited at TU and as long as we can give him whatever he wants and needs, he will be happy here. And besides, a lot of those supposed "big jobs" are career ruiners.

Now back to the Picker. One of my favorite movie lines is in the old classic "Red River". The great character actor Walter Brennan playing "Groot", John Waynes sidekick, sees a Mexican Cowboy ride up and since they are on open range in south Texas, he quips - "I never liked strangers. I guess its cause no stranger ever good news-ed me."

Well as far as the Picker is concerned, I will continue to throw away the flyers I get from the TW and consider them to be "strangers".

RE: The Tulsa World - Picker
If Tulsa had beaten Ohio St..... it would have still been the 3rd biggest story in the Tulsa World.
