Well, what do you think...........I guess we could say this is the game of the year.....so far. I'm kind of thinking we will have a hard time stopping the option but I also think they might have a hard time stopping us. So, what happens......Navy controls the clock and the Navy QB isn't a terrible passer....they can catch you off guard with the pass too. Tulsa isn't a bad rushing team either and Dane has been up and down with his passing this year. If Dane has a good game, I think it is really close with a lot of scoring but I think Navy controls the clock too much and wins.....Navy 42....Tulsa 36

RE: Navy
Probably our biggest game since playing UCF in the conference championship in 2012. I don't think either team is a good matchup for the opposing teams Defense. Tulsa's linebackers are going to have to have a big game in order for us to win. I want to see some more Micheal Thomas, we will need his speed.

Big keys for a Tulsa win. First and foremost come out ready to play and get an early lead. Navy's offense is not designed to comeback. Second control the pace. We need to speed up Navy's offense and get them out of their comfort zone. Third Wrap Up. Tulsa has had an issue with tackling so far this year and can't afford to give Navy too many yards after contact. Last, win or tie the turnover battle. Possessions are going to be few, so taking care of the ball becomes that much more important.

Prediction: Tulsa 45 Navy 42.
Semi homer pick, but I feel like Navy will not be able to stop our rushing attack and it will allow us to dictate the pace of the game.

RE: Navy
Obviously Navy practices against the run a lot, so they may stop our running game a little better than most of our opponents......in reverse, they don't practice against the pass as much, so the game may come down to how well Dane is throwing this week. We have some really good receivers......and in a one on one situation, I think we win. I would like to see, several long bombs early in the game.....if for no other reason than to keep their safeties back, away from the line of scrimmage and give our rushing game a better chance. I also think we should have at least a couple of long passes for TD's in this game......we have the receivers......hopefully Dane is on target this week!!!

It comes down to defense. If our rush defense (which has been great lately) can step up - I think we'll win.

RE: Navy
This is a very hard pick for a variety of reasons and one that doesn't necessarily favor us defensively. We need to hang on to the ball and play a little more deliberately to keep the defense well rested. If they (defense) stay on the field for a long time, we will be gassed in the 4th Quarter. So offense might be more inclined to throw the short passes and keep the run game inside a bit more. This is one game where I think its best to shorten the clock.

The way we are playing this year, I think we'd have a good chance to win playing in Tulsa, but we aren't. So I'm going to have to bet against us this week. So reluctantly I predict:

Navy - 38

TU - 31

RE: Navy
Tough game to call. There's plenty of reasons this game could go either way. I think our balanced offense gives us an edge. I'm going to go with my gut on this one and say we pull off the win. I was thinking the same score as Rabid, just flipped.

Tulsa - 38

Navy - 31

RE: Navy
How many times we get the ball will probably be the story......no matter what our offense is capable of.......how many times we get an opportunity will probably determine the outcome......which also means we can't afford not to take advantage of every opportunity we do get the ball. I think some long pass plays will be there for us so I hope Dane is having a good day. Any one on one situation, go for the long ball.
