Except for Illinois and Minnesota, looks like Trump wins most B1G states. Never thought that a Republican would ever do that again .

Good advice that Obama didn't take, but Republicans probably pick up seats big time in 2 years. There are a lot of Democrats up for Senate and Republicans typically do better in the House in off years.

They made a monumental mistake running her. We played an extremely dangerous game nominating a colossal *******. Got lucky that he had so many outside forces to bring her down and hand it to him.
I'm sure the Trumpers will continue to delude themselves into believing Trump single handedly pulled this off himself though. Unicorns and all.
Now we all pray he doesn't revert to his true self and **** us all.

Pretty much a repudiation of everything DC. People act all surprised but this typically happens after 8 years of the same POTUS, People want change so the other party wins. Trump's "Build a Wall" marketing ploy pretty much equaled Obama's "Hope and Change" marketing ploy. Also, can we finally say screw the polls? Polls are not correct and this election, and the primaries proves that.

To some extent the talking heads (and Nate Silver) ignored the polls. RCP showed it 272-266 Clinton yet Silver was talking 320s. The Fox people admitted last night they had written off Trump and believed the Clinton camp claiming they would win Florida because Puerto Ricans were registered to vote. Trump was closing in MI, WI, PA and except for the one outlier, NH was almost a dead heat. Trump people were telling the one Fox guy on Friday they didn't understand why they were still talking about North Carolina, that it was in the bag.
They were in their inside the beltway bubble (or DC-NYC bubble). That mentality is why Trump and why Sanders. Media and politicians don't have contact with many real people.
The RCP average missed PA, MI and WI, but it did show narrowing. Karl Rove made the comment the other day something to the effect, "Come on, there have been 37 polls in Michigan and Donald Trump has trailed in every one. Same in Pennsylvania." But he was ignoring the latest polls were within the margin of error and there were a Yuuugge number of undecided. It also missed Nevada the other way, but the latest polls were moving towards Clinton in Nevada. Looks like the final count will be 306-232, so its just those 4 states that got missed. It did miss the margins, especially in states like Ohio and Iowa where Trump won by nearly 10.

It wasn't necessarily GIGO on the polls. More it was simply garbage out with people seeing the poll results through their own paradigm which clearly didn't apply this year. Even Nate pointed out that error as related to Brexit but failed to apply it to this election.

The problem with polling is that today polling is not used to report opinion, it is used to shape opinion. Hopefully people will FINALLY wake up to the fact that polls are not gospel. In fact, people should just ignore polls.

Megyn Kelly really just annoyed me once, when she was interviewing Newt and started talking about how the polls showed people wanted to know about the sex stuff. Media is way too hung up on polls and on the horse race.
