The recent deaths of black media members has been sudden and shocking. Along with Gwen there was John Saunders and Drew Sharp of the Detroit Free Press.

She really didn't look that sick this summer when I was watching her host the conventions. I think she even hosted PBS This Week the past two weeks? But her cancer must have spread super quick as she spent her final days in a hospice. RIP.

Was sorry to hear of her passing. 61 is young by today's standards.
I agree it must've taken her down quickly.

So it was cancer? It looks like she choice not to do chemo. I think that we've had this discussion before, Chemo vs no Chemo.


1.) Would you skip Chemo and go quickly?

or

2.) Would you do Chemo, suffer and extend your life by 1-5 years doing Chemo every month?

Wikipedia said she had endometrial cancer which it appears is manageable if it's a lower stage. But it must have been a bad, aggressive stage because she obviously went very quickly.
