Democrats To Introduce Bill To Abolish Electoral College…
Do Barbara Boxer, Congresswoman for umpteen million years, and the other Democrats still not understand our form of government?
Quote:Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) will introduce legislation on Tuesday to get rid of the Electoral College, after Hillary Clinton lost the presidential election despite leading in the popular vote.
“In my lifetime, I have seen two elections where the winner of the general election did not win the popular vote,” Boxer said in a statement. “In 2012, Donald Trump tweeted, ‘The electoral college is a disaster for a democracy.’ I couldn’t agree more. One person, one vote!”
She added that Clinton, whom she supported, is "on track to have received more votes than any other presidential candidate in history except Barack Obama."
"The Electoral College is an outdated, undemocratic system that does not reflect our modern society, and it needs to change immediately," she said.
Clinton is currently leading Trump by nearly a million votes, according to a Cook Political Report tracker of the national popular vote, but Trump won the Electoral College, leading the former secretary of State 290-232.
According to Pew, Clinton would be the fifth person to win the popular vote but lose the election, with the most recent being Al Gore in 2000.
Boxer's legislation would amend the Constitution to abolish the Electoral College. Even if it is approved by Congress it would need to be approved by three-fourths of the states within seven years before it would take effect.

In an earlier post I mentioned the Dems post election tirades had reached pathetic porportions. I was wrong. Trying to play politics with the Constitution is a new low.

It has been requested that posters refer to her as Senator Barbara Boxer.

Yes. Smacks of butthurt.
Even if they did manage to get the electoral college removed from the process and the popular vote enacted as the means for election, there is no way would the US would go back and undo and election that was undertaken with the electoral college as the deciding mechanism.
The liberals who continue to whine a week later, need to suck it up, put on their big boy pants and get about life.

This. This is nothing more than political pandering, she knows this has no chance in hell of this ever happening.

Those grapes taste mighty sour right now.
The Hillary supporters are being idiotic on this whole electoral college issue, but just like how it's hypocritical for them to complain when they wouldn't have said a peep against it if she won the electoral but lost the popular, there would be a lot of Trump supporters who would cry foul if it worked against him. Not all of them, but a good number.

They are gonna destroy the Democratic party. I'm a fan of gridlock. They are effing It up. I want both parties locked in mortal combat so they leave us alone.

I wish it was changed to proportional electors. Puts more states in play and candidates will visit more. Maine and Nebraska do it. Dems visit Nebraska and Reps visit Maine.
