Caveat...I read ALOT. yeah it's not books but more technical papers and peer reviewed journals and studies. I consider myself an 'educated' person. Degree and all. But i can't seem to finish a book unless just mandated to do so. I want to read books, i really do, but i find myself just getting bored unless there's some sort of direct relationship to my direct experiences. Am I suffering from something? I really want to read up!

The thing that got me back in to "reading" was audible. I have an hour commute and with most books being 8-10hrs, I can "read" 3-4 books a month. Changed my literary life.

No, I don't think there is anything wrong with you. I am the exact opposite. I read to stimulate my mind to imagine something that I haven't had a direct experience with. I can't stand reading white papers and most management/finance books.

The Audible suggestion is a good one.

I'd also try some short stories. Every author worth their salt has plenty. Work your way through a few so you start to appreciate story. Then you move to full length.
