Leavitt was a great coach, but you can't forget the reason he was fired and just have to hope he wouldn't get caught up in that all over again. Cristobal did the exact same thing at FIU that FAU wants to do going forward. Sounds like a no brainer to me: focus on those 2.

To me Cristobal is the same as hiring Ron Turner. Turner was 35-57 at Illinois. Cristobal was 27-47 at FIU. As good as Hilton was, he only had 2 offers out of HS. FIU and Ole Miss. It wasn't like there was a lot of competition for him. And once Hilton was gone FIU went 3-9 in 2012.

This is the one play I remember with Hilton:

Does anyone have the footage of Cristobal chanting "Hot n' Ready, Hot n' Ready" after winning the Motor City Bowl ?

Looks like targeting and leading with the crown of the helmet to me. He'd have been tossed from the game nowadays.

Half the talent on your team is from Florida; maybe you shouldn't criticize with a full mouth.

No disagreement. More so FIU and FAU have hired some interesting outside the box hires.

surely you jest (if Colorado's DC isn't coming, not sure why you would like Alabama's OC would).

I do think Tennessee's TE's coach is available though. Good luck in that pursuit.

So...FAU is going to triple Partridge's salary then? Kiffin making $1.4mm at Alabama right now.

Please let Joey Freshwater end up in Boca! That's exactly what this conference needs.

This is the very reason a coach should get the hellouta dodge after a good season if the better opportunity presents itself.

Kiffin makes 1.4 mill now, and I'm sure would ask for significantly more for his assistants than FAU is currently spending. Do you guys have the money to cover that? Honest question, I'm not trolling. I think it would be a lot of fun to have Davis and Kiffin going head to head (and to play them each year)

Landing Kiffin would be huge for FAU. Having said that, I don't see a way in hell he ends up there.

Looking like the answer to that is no, Football scoop reporting negotiations have hit a standstill with Lane...Equals FAU not paying what Lane thinks he is worth IMO....

Betting its more about the buyout for Kiffin. Far and Houston wanted big buyout to hold a coach for several seasons. Kiffin wants the ability to leave when he wants .
