Is it even possible to have a dead period with coaches and schools just like coaches and recruits? It was an idea we were kicking around at work about pushing back national signing day an entire month and keeping coaches from being hired away until after bowl season.

We don't get the home and home with Purdue.Last
Year when they re-did His contract they took that provision
Out. Why Todd agreed to that I don't know.

No way you can compete with a 6 year 20 million dollar deal

Maybe be agreed to it because he had to. We kept Brohm an a 10-3 season.

I'm not disagreeing and I do realize he turned down some offers last year, but many schools were hesitant on how he'd do without your fantastic QB. He showed he can still win. And that attracted a lot more parties with a lot of money.

It always happens before the bowl game at schools like ours.

Happened that way with Willie Taggart. It was even worse with him because he was flirting with USF during the season and caused a couple of losses we shouldn't have had in my opinion.

New employers want their employees at work on their problems immediately...i.e. Recruiting new players to their school.
dahbeed, that's exactly what happened to us last year and we weren't the same team in the bowl game. I look forward to playing you guys in Boca. Great location and it should be a shootout for 2 good offenses.....y'alls stats are off the chart good.

Most of the people questioning the timing were ODU fans. They're new to FBS and haven't been through it yet. I don't ever remember it impacting us at the FCS level but Harbaugh was here for a long time and had us in the playoffs often and also was not in demand.

But it's the pecking order in FBS. They may go through it someday with Wilder after what he did this year. Doesn't mean they don't know football. They're just inexperienced in these situations.

I don't know if it's possible, but I'd be glad to see it. If you've ever played the NCAA Football video game, the entire coaching carousel happens after all the bowls. No one goes anywhere until then. Now obviously, they're keeping it simple for the video game, but I think that would be a much better situation than what we have now. If you have to adjust/push back recruiting, I don't see that as a significant problem.

RE: Sad Day
Brohm staying another year at WKU and winning another CUSA championship increased his value tremendously.

20 million over 6 years, 3.3 million a year plus and this is a big plus for Brohm since both his brothers will probably be on staff, he will get 3.5 million pool for assistant coaches. That is 1 million dollar increase from the last staff at Purdue for assistant coaches
