Dude. At what point did you go from a semi reasonable anti-Trump Republican to an all out Breitbart and Alex Jones bot? Serious question. Try not to chastise me for not being "woke" enough.

"Sandy Hook denier arrested after death threats made to parent of victim"

OP doesn't even have the chest to post the title accurately. What a joke.

I titled the thread ("Sandy Hook denier arrested") exactly as it read on MSN's home page, so your beef is with them, not me. Besides, there's only so many words you can use in a thread title.

If you read the comments of the article, it is ALL about "fake news". I guarantee this will be used in the coming days to fuel the left's argument to censor the internet.

It is a shame that Sandy Hook happened, but it's also a shame that the left uses that event (and subsequent related events) to push their political agenda. They already tried it once with gun control (Assault Weapons Ban of 2013), and now they will try again with "fake news". Personally, I think it's gross.

Cut the ****. Your selectively edited title is designed to be inflammatory and misleading.

Yet use of the internet is the very thing the "Dumoldcats" used in 2008 and 2012 to help get "Obummer" elected. Now that Trump turned the tables on them, the internet becomes an evil tool of the right !03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao

The actual title of the article is: "Sandy Hook denier arrested after death threats made to parent of victim". The fake news idea was part of the issue and that is what fueled her tirades, the primary focus of the article was the crimes the woman committed in threatening the parents of the victims.

Will we be hearing about this the next couple of days as another example of the "dangerous consequences of fake news" and why the internet must be censored?

So let me see if I have this straight. This woman was arrested for harassing Sandy Hook victims because she believes that Sandy Hook was a hoax right.

So the MSM is going to use this as an example of more fake news and now THIS is some sort of a conspiracy?

Only in Trump's America would someone say that the MSM is to blame for reporting a story about fake news to continue the conspiracy that fake news exists.

In my experience, true conservatives are very logical people. I wouldn't use that label for the posts I've seen in this thread.

hence the reason I was very clear to say "these conservative posters" not conservatives in general.

Or maybe they are just showing their true colors? I mean Trump won and the DNC is in shambles. There is no need to continue being fixated on the wikileaks/clintion's inner circle.

and yet here we are with Pizzagate and while we're at it ==> let's throw in Sandy Hook.

But there was only 3 or 4 actual supporters in this forum.

Now all the republicans are behind this guy and carrying water for him.

RE: Sandy Hook denier arrested - Will this be used to fuel "fake news" narrative?
I see two completely different things here, being conflated:

Fake News (authors) - an article that has the same format as a credible news article, whose content (often completely fabricated) is designed to provoke attention. The authors of such stories do so only because they're paid X amount of money for every click, and they've learned that by publishing certain articles about certain topics, they can provoke/manipulate a large number of people into clicking on the article. The authors care nothing of the underlying cause or issue, only about manipulation as a means to cash.

Conspiracy Theory (supporters) - an alternate explanation of how a particular event or set of events happened, sometimes solely as a means of provoking attention for or showing support for a political agenda. Supporters of these ideas have a wide range of motivations, but in the latter type it is a means of championing an agenda.

Thing is, with the recent explosion of attention on fake news, I think we're seeing conspiracy theorist radically emboldened. I think they're starting to think "wow ... maybe I don't really need to hide out in the closet on this absurd viewpoint. Maybe I can actually venture out into the mainstream and put a stake into the ground!"
