Don't worry...the likes of USM, UTEP, FIU will bring everyone down soon enough. The absolute most I see us being this year is a 2-big league.

I'd kill for us to be a two-bid league. I don't see it right now unless MT continues to do extremely well and falls in the tournament championship game.

The reality is we still have several very tough non-conference games despite having what is already a top five non-conference strength of schedule.

VCU and Ga State are both likely to be top 50 games and Belmont will certainly be top 100. From an at large perspective we certainly can't take anything for granted. Winning two of three would be great. Winning all three would - I assume - put us controlling our own destinty (i.e. not crapping the bed when we hit conference play) even if we don't win the conference tournament.

If we're top 30 RPI with a top five non-conf SOS it's going to be hard to ignore keeping us out especially after last year.

If Middle Tenn can get through their non-conf without another loss, Georgia State and VCU aren't what they were a couple of years ago, and then put together a 16 to 17 win C-USA slate, they my not even have to show up to the C-USA Tournament to get into the NCAAs.

The only thing that bothers me with their schedule, while it is the exact kind of schedule you need to help your RPI be top 40 but at the same time, they could be sitting on a 28-4 record, RPI of 23 and SOS of 123 with ZEROwins against RPI Top 50 teams. Play with the RPI Wizard yourself to see. With no Top 50 wins, that is no wins against other teams competing for at-large bids and four losses to non-NCAA teams.

I used that wizard. If, by some miracle, we go undefeated through the rest of the year and end up 29-1, our predicted RPI is #12. UNCW, VCU, Ole Miss will likely be top 50 teams.

Middle Tenn State University could go on a 8 game in conference stretch playing a team over 200 RPI. Nearly every conference game will be with a team RPI over 100. They need to lose the maximum of 1 conference game and maybe they could lose in the championship game to make the at large. They need to only have 3 losses max for an at large bid. They clearly have a good team though.
