Would The NCAA Torunament Be The Best Place for TU This Year?
Most of the time I yearn for an NCAA Tournament invite, but I'm having second thoughts with this young group we have. My thinking is that it might work against us in the future if we ended up in the dance and lost in round one. Fact is with this team made up of only one senior, we need to have as much post season practice as we can get and an NCAA bid might work against the devlopement of these young kids. If we were to go to say the NIT, CBI or some other minor tournament, we would have a chance to "stay alive" a while and give these kids some much needed extra work under game conditions as well as (possibly) another home game for the fans. So I'd be fine with just getting into a "non-NCAA" affair at seasons end.

If they keep progressing, there is a chance at some kind of post season imo.

Of course the best case option is making the dance and winning there - if we could.

This team will have to work hard just to have a winning season. Much less even get close to some type of post season play. I don't see it happening this year, next year maybe.

I agree....I think a .500 season maybe close to a miracle......and there doesn't seem to be a lot of interest or excitement among the TU fans......unfortunately this looks like a dull 4 months or so until Spring football and we find out who the next QB will be.

I agree with what you both say for the most part, but since we are so young, we could catch fire enough to have a decent record later on in conference. If that were to occur, I would want us to just stay alive enough to get the practice and teamwork under game conditions in postseason. It may be unlikely, but its happened before. No matter what, the best seasons appear to be in the future, not the present. BTW we went to the NCAA pretty early with the group we graduated last year - Woodard/Harrisons group. We may be in that cycle - to a lesser degree - again.
