Smokey and Bandit 1 I put there with Jaws, Animal House, Caddyshack etc as classic flicks.

They had a 45-year anniversary party for the cast of Deliverance last year. One of the networks had all the guys on the stage and Burt looked awful, which is quite ironic when you consider back in 1972 the rest of the cast physically paled in comparison to a then muscular Reynolds.

Burt admitted to have lived a hard life-- lots of women, drugs and alcohol wrecked his body. Its amazing he made it to 82 TBH.

This is not relevant to this thread unless it's his dog groomer's cousin that had a small role in a TV show in the 50s.

However by far my favorite part of Smokey and the Bandit... Now why do you need 500 cases of Coors? Cause he's thirsty.. dummy

After Burt's death. That leaves 2 main cast members still left. Sally Fields and former NFL player Mike Henry who played Junior. Smokey And the Bandit did launched the careers of three unknown actors who went on to tv roles.
Ben Jones (Cooter)
John Schneider (Bo)
Sonny Shroyer (Ennis)

They all went on to make it big on Dukes of Hazard.


Another death today is Stan Brock. Co-host with Marlin Perkins on tv for Wild Kingdom.

My mother is an All My Children fan. When I stayed home sick from school. I was forced to watched these soap operas. My favorite ones were One Life To Live and the darkly Dark Shadows like called Passions. Passions had a living doll wishing he could be a boy living with a witch named Tabitha.

As for someone like Gloria Jean was 11 when she broke out in 1939 as a child actress who dance and sang in movies in the Golden Age of Hollywood. She was more like a Judy Garland back then. There were some of the best movies back then. They did a lot of sports movies back then.

Marty Balin died yesterday (although it's just being announced today). He was one of the founders of Jefferson Airplane (and also was part of their later version - Jefferson Starship).

Hell of a voice - he had a few solo hits too.

Hard to believe Grace Slick is outliving them all. She seems to be a survivor.

Grace was not an original Jefferson Airplane lineup. She replaced Signe Toly Anderson in 1966. Signe sang on a number 6 hit song, but Grace made them much bigger.
Sadly, Signe died a matter of days when Paul Kantor died. It was marty Balin who invited Signe to join the band.

The band changed when they became Jefferson Starship, and then the main band after Kantor left became Starship. All three bands was mainly the same members who where part of the Airplanes.
