Dumplin's Budget Director returns under Cooper

NC can kiss it's economic growth and stature goodbye.

This is the same guy that recommended increased spending while jobless numbers rose, recommended raiding the "Rainy Day Fund", implemented $75 million in new fees, gutted public education and public safety, and expanded spending almost everywhere else. In short, it's the dude responsible for the $2.8b shortfall right before McCrory took over.

RE: Dumplin's Budget Director returns under Cooper
meanwhile, i have to start charging sales tax for my business this year all in the name of McCrory "cutting" taxes.

This will add hundreds to every project I do, and potentially thousands on commercial projects--money that will often be the difference in my services falling within or outside of someone's budget.

I'm far more pissed off about having to pay sales tax (and collect for my business) for services that previous had no sales taxes than I am about speculation the new budget director might **** up the budget. The little guy gets screwed again. McCrory's tax cut put a trivial amount of money back into my pocket, but the new taxes that have gone into effect the last two years will take far more back out for your average earner.

I'm no fan of the sales tax on some services either, but you gotta look big picture. NC will be in the shitter in 2 years.

Anybody looking for information on whats happening in NC needs to tune into 'Talk of the Town" on WTIB at 8:05 this morning. http://www.wtibfm.com/talk-of-the-town . Senate leader Phil Berger will be on discussing Cooper's announcement yesterday that he would file the paperwork to expand Medicaid even though he lacks the authority to do so.

Cooper made misleading statements at his announcement, saying expanding Medicaid would bring in $2-$4B a year in investment in NC, and add 20,000 to 40,000 "good-paying" jobs. Cooper conveniently did not mention the addition $600 million it will cost NC as the govt funding expires.

Coopers DOT secretary also favors dramatically increasing toll roads in NC, including ALL interstates.

This guy wants NC Hospitals to pay the 5% the feds don't cover. Who gave him that horrible idea? Hospitals are already politely telling him not a chance.nWho will pay the 5% extra in 2020?

That's what I was referring to. Say the hospitals agree to the first 5%. Who will pay the next 5% in 2020

The guy is a snake oil salesman, and NC bought it.
