Regret over exercising the nuclear option
To Schumer's credit, he opposed it from the beginning. No doubt Mr. Schumer is thanking his good buddy for the opportunity to see the shoe on the other foot...

Quote:Still, Schumer confirmed in a statement Sunday that Democrats plan to fight many of Trump’s Cabinet choices, though they will need Republican defections to stop them.
I can see this going either way. Will some in the GOP still fear that Trump will "ruin it for all of them" by being an outsider or will some Dems feel the pressure to break away from the losing side to try to save their reelection hopes in the next few years?

Lets hope this is the result........a lot of them up for reelection in 2018. If Shumer can keep the whole gaggle in lock step, maybe it means he's got dirty laundry on a bunch of them......

Depends on the nomination...
I could see enough GOP senators peeling off on a really bad nominee. But if a guy like Cruz comes up for the SC he will fly through.
The problem is that the dems brought their own press. When they started to live in a world where they never again thought they would be in the minority at the same time as a president from the other party was in power.
Or.... Reid knew *he* would not be around because he was not running again.

The Secretary of State nominee will get people from the GOP to side with the Democrats because he is friends to Putin.
