Not my problem. Health care is not in the Constitution.

You are walking in the steps of Jesus.

You are an expert on Christianity?

So you basically asking me to include my religious views on a political decision? I thought that was not supposed to happen?

Enough of an expert to note the inconsistency of holding a cross in your sig and advocating...just die. Sorry.

LOL. We're about to get into the RFRA fight (which is just the 'fire the Gays' bill).

I'll be looking to see all these religious hospitals providing billions extra in free care when Obamacare falls. Cristus, CHI, St Josephs, Ascension, Baptist Health, Adventist.....Actually I'm not. Because they're really only religious when they want to discriminate against people.

It is not the government's job to provide healthcare. That has nothing to do with my religious beliefs.

No, this issue can avoid that fight. I just get irked when I am told to set aside my faith for one issue but then I must carry my faith on another issue even if it goes against the foundation of this country.

That is a mighty big assumption to be casting. It sounds like you expect those hospitals to follow your beliefs.

That…alone would be a big help. Let the people decide if they want to give their entire paychecks for their medical needs. Let them be the judge and not the government.

Actually, they claim to be religious almost charity hospitals. They do that when they claim to not be able to perform certain medical procedures and to discriminate, even in hospitals built by the taxpayers. I'm just asking them to be consistent. If you claim to be like the old religious hospitals of old., then provide care like they did.

Wait so pre AFA there were about 45 million uninsured but without it there would be 80 million? Sure love that DNC math..

And even better, there are still about 20 million with no health care under Obamacare. So Obamacare reduced the number of uninsured by 25 million, but repealing it would make 80 million uninsured. Must be that common core math.

Fine with me. Cut the head off this beast and bury it. Just make sure that what replaces it actually works. If the GOP fails at this? It will be a monumental disaster.

They need to do this right. Make it a thoughtful analytical process, not a knee-jerk reaction.

They should spend some time studying and comparing alternatives. I think if they do any sort of objective comparison, some form of Bismarck will jump quickly to the top of the table, but that's an opinion, not fact. If they show that they are taking a reasonable approach, it's going to be hard for any red or purple state democrat who is up for re-election in 2018 to oppose them. That's the thing, get some democrats on board too, and then the republicans can still own it if it goes well, but won't be stuck with it like democrats are with Obamacare if it is not popular. But again, if they were to do Bismarck, I can't imagine that it wouldn't be wildly popular.

I agree. The GOP has an opportunity to destroy the Democrat party for decades with this issue. They should not rush this. The best and brightest minds (from everywhere) must be brought in to work on this. The GOP needs to be the adult in the room on this and show LEADERSHIP. Take as long as needed. Just get it right this time. We already know what a disaster it is to RUSH a bill through in 100 days.

If they get this and taxes right, and can return jobs to the Rust Belt, it's going to be a very tough electoral map for democrats for a generation. My grandkids might not know what a democrat president looks like.

Now the big question. Will they? Or will they blow it again?

My money is on blowing it, unfortunately.

Mine too. I hate to admit it..but..I tend to believe there is a conspiracy afoot to see that this confrontational duopoly survives. I believe there are players behind the scenes that depend upon chaos...and fund it.

There will be no logical reactions here if the swamp has anything to do with it. Just more petty bull****. Can't appear to agree with the other side.

Trump agrees that some parts of the Obamacare needs to be kept in place. The problem is that it will be hard to implement. Obamacare was originally modeled after Romneycare and Romney got his idea from Israel who have the same program in place in Israel. It is not a failure in Israel, and have some success in Massachusetts. Newt wanted this program to be implemented back in the 1990s. The Obamacare was actually a Republican idea from the Heritage Foundation.

No AFA was not a republican idea...

Romney Care was 70 pages and Mitt had vetoed the employer penalty for not providing health insurance. It included an “opt out” provision from the mandate.

More than that Romney care did not micromanage what Insurance companies had to offer.

AFA was 2,074 pages and had very broad regulation of the insurance industry including an employer penalty for not providing health insurance and no "opt out" provision

No, not at all. That is a pretty blatant misrepresentation.
