American Sports Network-In-Studio Announcers
I was at the Drexel/Delaware WBB game on Sunday, that was televised by ASN. I noticed across the way that ASN didn't have announcers there. On another thread, I wrongly disputed this notion, because ASN seems to go a really good job of hiding it.

I went home and watched the replay on my DVR. Brett Dolan, who is a very experienced announcer, was announcing the game with Monica McNutt. I also found this tweet from Brett Dolan, stating that he was at the ASN studios in West Palm Beach, FL.

During the game, ASN had the sound working really well so you couldn't tell that it the announcers weren't there. The announcers mentioned the unseasonably warm weather, and Monica said that she spoke to Denise Dillon before the game. They even showed them on camera a few times, except they were standing up in front of an ASN banner.

So I'm wondering if ASN has really been doing this for all of the CAA MBB telecasts this season, and if so, have you guys noticed?

I've seen ESPN do it on the past for foreign events, but in those cases, the sound was really off and they weren't trying to hide it. I thought that ASN did a great job of hiding it.

I also found this thread about ESPN trying it out for some of their CBB games, but to less than stellar feedback.

RE: American Sports Network-In-Studio Announcers
They've done it for most of their CAA games this year. Jeff McCarragher did a couple of the games from Elon and other places onsite, but the rest have been done either from Kansas City or West Palm Beach.

You can tell when a foul is called and they don't know which person the foul was called on, something they can get onsite easily.

They have 3 or 4 guys based out of KC (Dave Armstrong, Neil Harwell, a couple others) and a few based out of FL who fly in for the weekend.
