YouTube TV
This is relevant for those wanting to cut cable or have already cut cable, and is somewhat relevant to the conference's TV deal negotiations.

YouTube TV was announced today - a streaming service for $35 a month - and it blows all other streaming services out of the water.

Article: https://www.engadget.com/2017/02/28/yout...v-service/

The following sports channels are included:
ESPN
ESPN 2
ESPN 3
ESPNEWS
ESPNU
FS1
FS2
Fox Sports Prime Ticket
NBCSN
SECN
BTN
CBSSN
GOLF
CSN
As well as all broadcast channels (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, etc)

The biggest breakthrough for CUSA is that CBSSN is finally on a streaming platform. However, there is no BeIN (surprise, surprise).

Another huge development is that it will offer unlimited DVR services - something that no other streaming service currently offers.

I know I will be switching to this from SlingTV (currently paying $40/mo with no CBSSN or DVR) as soon as it becomes available in my area.

Wow, this looks awesome. The biggest thing? Cloud DVR with unlimited storage space (and CBSSN included). I'll probably use it... be nice to see games on CBS Sports Net that I couldn't get before with dumb AT&T.

If you can get this through Roku, Chromecast, and gaming systems, this will be a game changer.

It appears it will be first available through Chromecast and any mobile device or computer. No word yet on Apple TV though

Just got to get Bein and ASN included and I'd be all for it. Sadly, we're hard pressed to find many CUSA games on any of those networks.

BTW, I fully expect CBSSN to fully sever its relationship with C-USA on the next round.

You get more channels but the only way you get all those sports channels is to have both orange and blue packages for $40, so technically not cheaper though you probably get more value out of Sling. No CBSSN on Sling either.

Not true. To get all of those sports channels on Sling:

Orange Package - $20 - ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN 3
Blue Package - $20 - FS1, FS2, Fox Sports, NBCSN
=$40

Still doesn't have CBSSN, ESPNU*, SECN*, BTN or any DVR capabilities.

*I have these channels because I'm a "legacy subscriber" from the very beginning, but it doesn't appear that these are offered any more.

It just depends on what you want. It's basically News and Sports, but lacks many channels I see as must haves. So I'll stick with Sling.

RE: YouTube TV
Can anyone explain to me how any streaming that cost you $40 a month is better than the below package you can get from Directv for $50 a month? Add another $13 and you get all the fox sports channels I believe another 20+ that carries most CUSA games. The movie channels are only for 3 months.

So for $10 more you get all the below and another $13 gets you just about any football or basketball shown on TV anywhere. And you don't need to worry about buffering or sharing a internet connection with the rest of the family.

I understand everyone wants to save money and think they are beating the system by going with streaming. Are you really?

(edit $13 sports package)
DIRECTV SPORTS PACK is a sports fan's dream-come-true.

This add-on package includes all of the following channels:

No TNT is a bummer. I also don't see regional Fox Sports channels. That's a big blow for NBA fans.

Playstation Vue already offers unlimited DVR services. This is interesting though. I think the competition is going to heat up.

My mistake. I thought it was a limited feature.
