I still have no idea why an every day Joe would want a $70,000+ pick up truck. People are free to spend their own money as they like so more power to them though.

I got in debt in my first marriage trying to make my then wife happy by buying her stuff, like clothes and jewelry. One time she was biatching that she didn't have any dresses. I gave her money to do so and then she comes back with more pants. I asked her why she bought pants instead of dresses like she wanted and she yelled that she needed pants too. Go figure. Now she has to buy her own crap. LOL

You know how y'all say that our immigrants don't assimilate. Well, she assimilated too well, LOL. She was from a third world country and came to love the good life and all that comes with it. I was young and dumb and full of … I thought giving her what she wanted would keep her happy and I found out there would never be enough money to do that. Now, don't get me wrong, I threw away a lot of money myself and carried a big credit card bill. When we divorced I had to assume all debt as nothing anyone could do would make her help pay it off. I wanted a good credit rating and I scrounged enough to pay all my debts. Because of this debt we had marital problems and she decided to find someone with more money. I thank him and I should have sent flowers to him. He ridded me of an over jealous, stifling woman. I'm in seventh heaven now and I'm grateful that God sent me my present wife. I have everything one can wish for. Wowee.

They couldn't understand what the heck she wanted because they would say that I gave her everything, which was partly true. I never thought of using physical force as that never accomplishes nothing. Getting a new life was a better outcome. Unfortunately, in all this crap during our breakup my two sons were caught in-between. By a miracle of God they turned out to be great sons, no thanks to their parents.

Anyone with a damn boat of any real size needs something, and the diesels are very popular for that. Hell, I'll drive by an F350 and similar size Dodge Ram (3500?) before I turn out of our little neighborhood.

The F450 was just one example. You can go on the Ford, Chevy, GMC, or Ram website and price any three quarter ton or one ton pickup to the level BIB mentioned with common options. Add in the specialty options like lift kits, fancy rims and tires, brush guards, etc. that many dealerships are adding on to these very popular trucks and you are pushing $90k or more. When my oldest son was home over Christmas we stopped off at the local Chevy dealer to look at a truck they had on the lot. It was a new 2500 with dealer installed lift kit, big aggressive off-road tires, winch bumper, LED light kit and a custom stereo. $93K before taxes and it's not a truck you buy to go build decks or haul skid steer tractors.

I don't know much about trucks but I do know that what an F-450 looks like. they are quite rare despite Ford being the king of pickups.

I don't own a personal iPhone, I have one for work. That being said the phones my wife and I have are smartphones that make calls, texts, and can use to get online. It's a phone. I refuse to pay more for a phone than I have for a monthly car payment.
