Analysts: Starbucks' pledge to hire refugees is hurting brand & could impact earnings
When are they going to learn?

Quote:Starbucks' (SBUX, -1.15%) decision to hire 10,000 refugees at locations worldwide is hurting the coffee giant's brand and could impact earnings, analysts say.
Credit Suisse issued a hold rating on Starbucks, noting "significant volatility in recent weeks," CNBC reports. According to YouGov BrandIndex, consumer perception levels for the company have fallen by two-thirds since late January.

Getting called a bigot might hurt if it came from someone who didn't throw it around like candy simply because he wasn't intelligent enough to formulate a real counterpoint.

Corporate virtue signaling is just bad business.

Some people just want some coffee, not a conversation on race or some other bull****.

How did their decision to hire 10,000 veterans (before that unknown coffee company claimed it) do?

Which is more important to your attitude towards the company: 10,000 vets in America (already there at 8,800 as of February) or 10,000 refugees scattered across 75 countries?

Do you want those vets to lose those jobs as you praise the company's demise?

I want companies to learn that SJW virtue signaling is no way to do business.

I don't mind that they are hiring refugees, just like I don't give a crap what target does with their bathrooms. But when they start to give out the idea, we're better than you and so we're doing this.....

It's like Hillary's "deplorables" comment, or the "punch a nazi movement"....

You simply have to learn not to paint your customers, the demos, or your fellow citizens as the epitome of evil.

Will I get to watch more YouTube videos of muslims and atheists arguing/fighting because of this? I don't go to Starbucks so I don't know their typical clientele.

They have adjusted their statement to say that they have hired 8,800 vets, or family members of vets.

And no, I dont want the vets they have hired to lose their job, so the company needs to stop doing stupid ****.

Is there a way they could've done this to not give out that idea to someone. You're always going to do something that is going to make a group of people unhappy. IMO, this move would've been called virtue signalling either way in the world we live in today. Not everyone is as level-headed as you.

Errrrr, just hire them?

Don't make it a PR piece?

If they simply hired, trained and had XX,xxx of immigrants doing a decent job with not a lot of fanfare no one would say a word.

But, no. Gotta make it a statement. nothanks
