Self has been and will be recruiting his position for the next 2 years, forget about KJ. Self will most likely get somebody that will start in front of Dedric. Possibly little brother.

Lets not forget that KJ was still in his first year of playing college basketball and he was getting 12 and 8.

I think he has two more years tops to get this thing turned around. Tubby is a proud man, I know he doesn't want to go out on a bad note.

I didn't hire a guy (making $3mm a year) to completely fail to fill out a roster last year and have to resort to bringing in Chad in August and taking a flyer on Azab.

Then, after having a year (part of the "be patient...wait till he has a full recruiting cycle") he only signed three frosh and is having to fill out a sizable portion of the roster with two year players after hemorrhaging 75% of the returning players.

So, being a Tiger fan, I choose to support the team.

We've been a subpar team (Memphis expectations) for some time now. We'll be worse next year most likely. But hopefully he'll turn it around. They have been recruiting hard now (too late), but hopefully this will carry on with 2018. Probably wishful thinking, but I believe he'll turn it around...

I'm not mad at anybody. I'm just making an observation. Who knows how Tubby's tenure will turn out. I think he will get at minimum of 3 seasons to turn things around and I think he deserves 3 years. We have a pretty irrational fan base. Signing a bunch of Memphis kids isn't going to turn this thing around. The situation at Memphis is toxic and that goes back to the Pastner years.

Pastner brought in great talent and a lot of local talent but could never get his players to play as a team. Time may prove that Tubby was a terrible hire but he will get 3 years to prove himself. And no, I'm not sold on Tubby. Next season is going to be brutal but we may have to take several steps back before the program moves forward.
