Yeah i love that site. Unfortunately that CBS roku channel doesn't give access to CBS SN. Looks like Hulu is beta testing on the Roku so hopefully that will be available soon

If you have a smart TV or a way to cast to the TV, then Hulu TV will be the way to go. It already comes with CBS SN as a standard channel, and for, essentially an extra $32/month, you have Hulu plus about 50 live channels. It's how I will be watching games, in addition to the CAA.tv app, which should hopefully have the same number of regular season games as last year.

Sling, PS Vue, Youtube & Hulu have it as an option but it's likely to be an add on option. If you have a Amazon Prime membership I think it is also available there.

Showtime has a standalone service, that can be purchased by anyone without a subscription to a channel bundle (cab;e/sat/streaming). Believe it is called Showtime Anytime, try Googling that. Think it is ~$15/month, similar to HBO Now.

RE: An Analysis of TV OTT Platforms
Here's a question for anyone in the know (Wikipedia does not elaborate ...): who is backing Fubo TV?

What I mean is that there isn't any apparent mainstream technology company that seems to be backing/underpinning this service. Sling is DISH, Vue is Sony, DirecTV Now is AT&T, Hulu and YouTube are those, ........ who is Fubo??

It doesn't seem like any joe-blow nobody off the street should be able to just up and start a nationwide internet streaming channel bundle, that includes most of the top US cable networks signed up. I would think you'd need a lot of infrastructure as well, as far as servers, bandwidth, storage, etc. (Maybe there is really just one company in the country that is doing all that for all of these services, behind the scenes, and simply charging all of the brands a certain amount per month?)

They were a small independent company catering to soccer fans. That wasn't profitable so they shut down and relaunched as a 1 package streaming company with deals with Fox, NBC, Bein, Hallmark, Univision and some other general entertainment like A&E, History, and Lifetime in an effort to broaden their market while still keeping a major soccer focus. If your a soccer fan Fubo is a steal but that will only get you so far. This summer they had a major infusion of investing which allowes them to snag a deal with HGTV owner Scripts and their family of networks and CBS, supposedly launching soon. They still don't have contracts with Disney, Turner, Viacom, or Discovers.

As best I can tell they are still small and independent but with the investment capital they have taken, seats on their board have gone to big players like Fox

Thanks gor update!

Note that CBS Sports Network will be on the more expensive tier "Go Big" which is $60/month. Freakin CBS , why do they want thier sports channel on the higher tiers? Do they not want to compete with the other networks?

RE: An Analysis of TV OTT Platforms
With this add:
Directvnow $60 package gets you pretty much every major national sports network except NFL/Redzone, Bein, and Pac12.

Sling Orange/Blue combo with sports pack for $50 gets you NFL, Bein, and PAC12 but you lose MLB, BTN, and Tennis.

Ps Vue $45 package is solid with all the Fox/NBC/ESPN networks but no CBS Sports, MLB, Tennis, Pac12, or Bein. Redzone and national feeds of many RSN's can be added for $10 extra/month

Finally Fubo TV at $35 gives you all the CBS/Fox/NBC networks along with Bein and NBA but no ESPN family of networks, NFL/Redzone, MLB, NFL, tennis, or Pac12

RE: An Analysis of TV OTT Platforms
So that means anyone can buy the streaming channel without a subscription to a cable/sat/streaming bundle? If so, will be interesting to see how they price it relative to their carriage fee.

RE: An Analysis of TV OTT Platforms
Here's my recommendations for where to start looking for OTT bundles

If you just want access to ESPN: Sling Orange $20 with possible $5 Sports addon

If you want access to an affordable non sports bundle: Sling Blue $25 with possible 4 for $10 non sports add-ons

If you are a soccer fan or an ESPN free sports fan: Fubo.Tv for $35 or Sling blue for $25 with $10 Sports addon

If you are a big sports fan, either PS Vue $45 package or Sling Orange/Blue combo with sports add on for $45

If you an affordable replacement for a basic cable bundle: DirectvNow for $35, PS Vue for $40, or Hulu Live Tv for $40

If you want a complete replacement for an all around cable bundle: $60 DirectvNow or $55 Ps Vue

RE: An Analysis of TV OTT Platforms
That's why I don't like the "OTT" term .... "you guys" (cord cording priests) don't even use it consistently.

All those you just described are bundles of channels, themselves. "OTT" was supposed to refer to apps on a Roku, for example, which you would log into using your user/pass from your cable/sat service. Perfect example being WatchESPN app. But now you're using the term for streaming channel bundles, themselves.
