Forgive me for my ignorance of 1980's UC basketball, but was his father a star player?

Kenyon is a legend around Cincinnati. He left a huge legacy with UC basketball. He can easily be considered on of the top 5-10 players to ever play at UC. Kenyon's time at UC is only 17 years in the past, with his professional career keeping him relevant on the basketball scene up until only what, 3-4 years ago. Now he is a high profile player in the Big3, which is being pushed hard on TV. So he still has a profile in the game.
His son would certainly still feel his presence.

Was Gaffney a star player or more of a role player? I can't see a role player leaving a huge legacy that would put pressure on their son to live up to.

He certainly wasn't a National Player of the Year who has his jersey hanging above the south hoop every game and he played in the "dark ages" of UC basketball. I doubt that the normal UC basketball fans of today would even know his father played if someone asked them his name...so I don't think it's that big of an issue.

Kevin Gaffney had a very good career at UC. I remember him playing alot in the 7 overtime record game when UC defeated Bradley Univ. at their place and set a new ncaa record of most overtimes in a game.
