RE: 2018 Mens Hoops Recruiting
Maybe us mid-major schools will see a trickledown of recruits decommitting from the schools in this scandal. Not that we'd get Louisville's recruits, but maybe it pushes other recruits down the poll.

2018 Mens Hoops Recruiting
Yep Williamson was traveling to JMU today with his Mom. Hopefully being closer to NC than the other schools who are recruiting him will help us. On the NC high school list JMU just offered Michael Wynn the other day. Ecu and others involved with him.

RE: 2018 Mens Hoops Recruiting
A year ago, it was the players that visited JMU, of course, that ultimately ended up committing. In fact, they got just about all of their top targets, save for the player that went to Middle Tenn (Massenburg and also Tyler Foster did not come on board, but that was probably because JMU preferred Banks). Of the three guys that 247 sports had as visits for 2018 (Honor, Frink and Guess), all were listed as warm, although Honor just committed to Fordham. Williamson visited this weekend, so I have to believe he's one of their top targets for this class.

84, the 247 site while good doesn't have all of the visits and prospects updated. Justin Lee, Christian Guess and Dashon Parker are just a few more 2018 prospects who have been both offered and gone on official visits to JMU. With a few big football games coming up including potentially CGD and Homecoming I'd expect some more visits 2 to 3 weeks from now prior to the November signing period.

RE: 2018 Mens Hoops Recruiting
JMU was in to visit Taevion Kinsey again yesterday. Dukes really pursuing him. 6'4" SG from Ohio with several mid major offers. Good vertical and smooth on offense- needs to add some weight/muscle.
Also Daivien Williamson is taking an official to East Tennessee State this weekend and supposed to make his final decision next week. He is said to be a combo guard but a good passer. 6'1" and slight in build but very quick and offensive minded.
It doesn't look like Kinsey and Williamson are competing for spots so the Dukes could land both. With the depth at Guard for next season I don't think they would need either to play a major role as Freshmen but both look to be good prospects who could really be players at JMU when Mosely graduates.

Taevion and Daivien. Sounds like a sitcom.

I talked to one of Williamson's AAU coaches last week. He definitely likes JMU but wanted to see all of his options available. The AAU team is just something they slapped together and not a D-1 puppy mill like some of the notorious AAU program's are.

Lee committed to Northern Illinois. He's one of the guys that 97 mentioned above (look up a few posts). Parker, another 97 mention, attended JMU's camp this summer if I'm not mistaken.
The 247 site still has Frink and Guess as warm. We're rapidly approaching the fall signing period, of course.

RE: 2018 Mens Hoops Recruiting
Another guy JMU had offered late- Michael Wynn committed to ECU yesterday. Williamson visited East Tennessee this past weekend. They look to be late on his recruitment but supposedly he loved the visit. Jason Wade from Trinity who didn't have the Dukes in his final four just chose ODU. I didn't realize that his Father Donnie Wade played at ODU so he's a legacy there which makes sense.
Adam Zagoria is reporting that the entire JMU staff is visiting Alanzo Frink and Colby Rogers in NJ at Roselle Catholic tonight. Rogers is a class of 2019 SG.

Was hoping you meant Wichita, JMU, Tennessee and Dayton. I like that crowd better.

RE: 2018 Mens Hoops Recruiting
2018 SG Taevion Kinsey recently won a Fall League MVP and narrowed his finalists to JMU, Marshall and UT Martin. His final decision is expected by mid November.
JMU also offered another 2018 SG Keshaun Sanders from Orangeville Prep in Canada. Has offers from Illinois, USC, St Bonaventure, UMass, Tulane and others.
Looks like the Dukes are recruiting Canada a bit as they also offered a 2019 PG the other day.

Horsey committed to Drake. The staff is still searching for their first commitment for the class. It would have been nice to secure a verbal at the PG position.

Yep I noticed that and started to get that vibe from social media yesterday. I don't really understand the young man's decision. Drake has a new coach (former Furman coach) and has some youth at PG already (two incoming freshmen and another 2018 commit). They are predicted to finish last in the MVC so sadly really no difference to JMU only more depth at PG to compete with and further away from home.
I thought that it may be related to Daivien Williamson's recruitment but from the sounds of this article East Tennessee and Wofford may have an edge on him.

I hear you on PG but would rather they don't settle. The 2018 recruiting is off to a weak start for JMU (losing PG targets to Fordham and Drake) but that could change with a commitment from Taevion Kinsey and or Alanzo Frink at wing and PF.

Good point- he and another recent offer Keshaun Sanders from Canada I believe the Dukes are still in on. There isn't much info on Guess but he kind of reminded me of a Julius Wells in terms of stature. To Rock House's point there aren't many other PGs that they are in on- one Deshon Parker visited I believe and also recently visited Bowling Green. I liked the Nick Honor or even Montrell Horsey body type a little better. Parker and Williamson seem slight to me.
