TU v OSU Thoughts
I wish we'd stop doing this - I mean scheduling this kind of contest at this time of year. What i mean is scheduling a road game instead of home game as the opener. And on top of that, against a top ranked P5 team. Here is the result of the last 5 years of openers (not counting yesterdays result):

2012 - Iowa St in Ames - 23-38 Loss (we later beat them in the Liberty Bowl Gsme)
2013 - Bowling Green in Ohio - 7-34 Loss
2014 - Tulane in Tulsa - 38-31 Win
2015 - FAU in Tulsa - 47-44 Win
2016 - San Jose St in Tulsa - 45-10 Win

So we are undefeated in openers at home, but winless in openers on the road. Statistically, we have a better chance of winning openers at home than on the road. This isn't rocket science folks. But I doubt this factoid was ever considered in the office of the AD. But I've used the term "scheduling for advantage" many times before. Yesterdays result was the opposite of that. The above information could be accurately described as "scheduling to your disadvantage". The offense is somewhat in rebuilding mode and the secondary was eaten up, so the outcome of the game yesterday was predictable.

We need to work harder in the ADs office to get games that benefit us long term and not just do the cowardly thing and take money games that hurt the program - long term.

IMHO

BTW there is a small sliver lining to that game since it was scheduled on a Thursday, not Saturday. We have three extra days to prepare for opponent #2 (Louisiana) at home. They only have a week of prep and will play Sept 2 (vs SE Louisiana - at home). But again, the AD needs to think in terms of "success" and "advantage" for the sake of our coaches and kids.

RE: TU v OSU Thoughts
So OSU will be playing their second game on Friday Sept 8th at 8pm. So where is it being played? Well, its in Mobile, Alabama. So are they playing Auburn or the Crimson Tide? Well, nope. Opponenet is USA also known as the South Alabama "Jags". Question? If OSU can travel a thousand miles to play a Sunbelt team "there", why can't they come and play us here less than 100 miles away? I think a lot of that answer lies in the office of "OUR" athletic director. Why didn't he do his homework and ask that question?

Obviously our AD does not schedule to "OUR" advantage, but to theirs.

BTW their (USA) stadium seats 33,471 according to PSCFBM.
